3rd Sunday of Easter
Thanks for a solid Mass last week! We had a nice mix of music for this first 'regular' Saturday after Easter :-). I also appreciate your bearing with me -- this minor bug (or allergies) continues to hang on!
We touched on this a few weeks ago, but Paul has been making some upgrades to the Sanctuary sound system. Among other things, he installed additional wireless mics (like the ones Fr. Jozef & Dcn. Jack use) and audio inputs for connecting other devices (like computers, phones, etc.). More to follow, but that should come in handy, I think!
Thanks for the feedback on Easter Vigil! We can definitely come up with better ways to balance rehearsals. And I'll see about getting that Baptism text updated too. If you think of anything else, let me know! Always open to ideas :-).
I have a message in to Amy about finalizing music for First Communion (04/25). An invite will also go out to the Sunday groups in next day or so. Since we're down a few folks, that might help fill in some gaps. Stay tuned!
Not really choir-related, but the Good Shepherd Soirée (formerly The Shepherd's Ball) will be held after Mass on 04/25 @ 6:30 PM. There will be a live/silent auction, food, music, dancing and free wine/beer. It's a major Parish fundraiser, so please consider sticking around that night! Details are on the website.
Finally, don't forget that our Spring Potluck is on May 23rd after Mass (Pentecost weekend). If you haven't already, there's still time to RSVP :-).
Enjoy the warm weather, and see you Saturday!
(All Mass Parts, except the Gospel Acclamation, are from Mass of Remembrance, including the Gloria, Holy, Eucharistic Acclamation 'A' (We Proclaim Your Death), Doxology & Lamb of God)
Out: Karen, Ben, Barry
Entrance:
GC3 #524 - Alleluia No. 1 (Fishel)
Materials (audio & sheet music)
**We'll sing at least two verses (maybe three). Adding in the descant on the refrain and the harmonies on the refrain would be lovely! Tracks are in the folder.**
(Sprinkling & Gloria)
Responsorial Ps (Cris):
SS #053 - Ps 16 - Keep Me Safe, O God (Manibusan)
Materials (audio & sheet music)
**Would anyone like to serve as a backup cantor? Just in case my voice is uncooperative again?**
Acclamation (Frank):
SS #005 (GC3 #844) - Alleluia! Give the Glory (vs 6 or 7) (Canedo)
Preparation:
GC3 #538 - On the Journey to Emmaus (Haugen)
Materials (audio & sheet music)
**Since this song focuses on the Gospel reading, let's plan to sing all four verses. We'll add a slight include between each. And if we could include the alto/tenor harmonies, that would be great!**
(Mass Parts)
Communion:
GC3 #941 - Eat This Bread (Berthier)
Materials (audio & sheet music)
**Could we begin with an instrumental, before having someone start the singing? We've gone back and forth on this, but let's plan to sing the verses together (rather than as solos).**
Closing:
SS #179 - He is Exalted (Paris)
Materials (audio & sheet music)
