Season of Creation: Living Water
27th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Thanks for another strong Mass last week! Let Justice Roll Like a River and At the Name of Jesus were both nice fits for the Readings; we had some fun with To You, O God, I Lift Up My Soul, and Within the Reign of God is sounding great too! Here's the audio.

Our October music and cantor schedule is ready! A few more quick notes:
  • There are some less-common tunes on the board, as well as two Guimont Psalms and one new Closing song. Please look ahead if you can! All of these are linked in the music plan above. If you need something I didn't link to, though, give me a shout!
  • We celebrate the Feast of St. Francis this weekend, which wraps the Season of Creation. Thanks for another lovely season! 'Regular' Ordinary Time Masses resume next week.
  • All Saints will be a normal weekend Mass on October 31st. As for All Souls (November 2nd), Barb H. is checking into whether there will be a dedicated Mass(es). Stay tuned!

A quick heads up that I started using a Bluetooth pedal to flip pages on my tablet. That frees up my hands again, but it may take a bit to get into the rhythm of using it (no pun intended :-). So if you see slight delays with anything, that may be why!

Finally, we'll be switching to Mass of Joy & Peace for Advent & Christmas, beginning on November 28/29th. As usual, we'll take some time to blow the dust off this one (probably not until early/mid-November, though). Hopefully more on Advent in the next month!

**We haven't done this tune in a while! Keep in mind that the verses are written as cantor/response. We could either have cantor(s) sing those bits (any takers?), or split the choir. Since it's long, let's plan for three verses.**

**Please bring a copy if you're able! GC only has the refrain written out; the copy in the folder is from the Lectionary Psalms book, and includes both the voice and piano parts.**

Preparation:
SS #199 (GC3 #828) – Make Me a Channel of Your Peace (Temple)

**In the past, we've sung this out of GC, but I'd like to try the SS version. If there are any problems, we can always switch back! Keep in mind that verses 1, 2 & 4 all share the same melody, while verse 3 is different. We'll probably get through all of the verses.**

**We've touched on this before, but I'd like to include a slight tempo change during the verses. The first eight bars will be slower; then, the tempo picks up in the second half, leading into the refrain (something like this). Including the descant on the refrain would be great too!** 

Closing:
GC3 #643 – Healing River (Minkoff/Hellerman)

**This will be our last time singing 'Healing River' for the season. Let's take a few extra minutes to make sure the verse three transition is OK; we may also look at adding the echoes between phrases.**
