Season of Creation: Living Water
26th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Thanks for another strong Mass last week! Both We Are One and Healing River are starting to gel (we'll keep working on these) and tempos for everything were just about right!

Here's the audio (two sets of files again :-).

I had some time to draft nearly all of our October music in one sitting, so that will post shortly. As always, please let me know if there are any Saturdays you're out! A couple of planning notes:
  • October 3rd/4th is the last weekend for the Season of Creation. It's also the Feast of St. Francis. This year marks the 800th (!) anniversary of St. Francis' death -- the Church has been celebrating this throughout the year, so I'll follow up if there's anything special going on for Mass.
  • Also, All Saints (and Halloween) falls on a weekend this year (10/31 & 11/01), so it'll be celebrated as a regular Mass. I'm going to confirm what's happening with All Souls, though. It's the following Monday (11/02), so there could be a morning and/or evening Mass. Stay tuned!

We touched on this Saturday, but Paul extended the cable for our far-left vocal mic (the one Jake uses). The 10:30 folks about asked this, as they'd like to move that mic around for instrumentalist use. There should now be enough cable coiled at its base to reach the area behind the guitar stand. Paul also shortened several other mic cables so there's not as much excess next to the piano. Thanks, Paul!

Joanne has been working on writing out piano scores for Dcn. Bob's Mass of the Good Shepherd. As of last week, the Alleluia is coming along. If interested, that may be an option for us to try soon!

For the past few months, we've had three water bottles sitting on the choir area work table. If any of these are yours, please take them home this weekend! Otherwise, they'll be removed.

Finally, we should probably talk about preliminary Advent & Christmas planning soon. We're only a couple of months out at this point! I don't know that anything's changing with Christmas Mass coverage, but it may still be worth discussing again with the choir leads. If you have thoughts on the schedule and/or what you'd like to see us do, give me a shout! We can always chat on Saturday too.

**This will be split for Gathering & Closing. In the past, we've either had cantor(s) or the whole group sing the verses. Let's plan to do them as a group. The melodies are all different, so please make sure you're comfortable with these! Parts would be great too -- there's SATB on the refrain and two-part splits on the verses.**

**Including the three-part splits on the refrain would be great! Also keep in mind that after the last refrain, we'll go into the Final ending, which repeats the last phrase twice.**

**We'll likely get through 2-3 verses. A quick reminder that the verses are written out of order -- verses 1 & 3 share a melody, while 2 & 4 use a slightly different melody. There are also different dynamics for each (which we should try to include). Finally, watch for the retard & fermata the very last time!**
