Thanks to everyone who came out last week! It was great to be nearly fully-staffed, and to have such a large crowd at Mass. It seems many attended Saturday to beat the storm! The phrasing, cutoffs and harmonies were also really nice (especially on songs like One Spirit, One Church). Here's the audio.
Some of you saw this already, but just wanted to share the Music Ministry page for the new Pictorial Directory. Last week, Joanie sent me several of the work-in-progress photo pages. Looking good so far!
Bev discovered that one of the piano keys wasn't working. We couldn't find anything obviously broken, so the Office is having the piano repairman take a look. Luckily, we were the only group able to play last week, so it didn't cause anyone else problems! Hopefully, that'll be sorted out by the weekend.
Our Winter Potluck is still on for next Saturday, February 7th, after Mass. We're now up to 13 attendees (including guests)! If you'd still like to join the party, here's the signup :-).
Music for February & March will be ready shortly. Since Holy Week is also right around the corner, I'm planning to have April drafted soon too. Lots to plan for both Good Friday & Easter Vigil, so more on that in the coming week!
Finally, please mark your calendars for First Communion, which we'll celebrate as part of Saturday Mass on April 25th. No specifics yet, but the format should be the same as last year. On top of that, the Good Shepherd Soirée (formerly the Shepherd's Ball) is also taking place that night at 6:30 PM. If you'd like to check out a fun event benefiting the Church, info will go up on the website soon :-).
I think that's it. Stay warm, and see you Saturday!
(All Mass Parts, except the Gospel Acclamation, are from Mass of Joy & Peace, including the Gloria, Holy, Eucharistic Acclamation 'B' (When We Eat This Bread), Doxology & Lamb of God)
Out: Ginny
Entrance:
SS #107 - Lead Me, Lord (Becker)
Materials (audio & sheet music)
**Since the Beatitudes are a core focus of the Readings, let's try to sing at least two verses (depending on timing). If anyone's interested, there's also separate choral parts in the folder.**
(Glory to God)
Responsorial Ps (Cris):
GC3 #093 - Ps 146 - I Will Praise the Lord (Joncas)
Materials (audio & sheet music)
Acclamation (Ginny TBD):
SS #021 - Alleluia (vs 1) (Angrisano)
Preparation:
GC3 #596 - Praise to You, O Christ, Our Savior (Farrell)
Materials (audio & sheet music)
**Let's be careful of tempo -- it's easy to take this too fast! If we start a bit slower, that'll give us room to grow (something like this). I'm guessing we'll get through three (or possibly all four) verses.**
(Mass Parts)
Communion:
SS #157 - Bread for the World (Farrell)
Materials (audio & sheet music)
**Since this isn't super long, let's begin with an instrumental, and add in voices later. Of course, we can always repeat verses (and/or another instrumental) if needed.**
Closing:
GC3 #759 - God Sends Us Forth (Alonso) [NEW]
Materials (audio & sheet music)
**Please take a look if unfamiliar! A few of us sang this back in November for Thanksgiving Eve, but it'll be our first time doing it for a Saturday.
There are four verses. Since these goes by pretty quickly, we'll plan to do the whole thing. There's also both a lower harmony and descant if anyone's feeling adventurous :-).**
