Epiphany of the Lord
We did it! Thanks so much to everyone who was able to help with Christmas Masses! Collaborations and kids choirs always make things a bit interesting, but it all worked! As always, there were many great comments from parishioners and guests alike. The audio can be found here and here.
We also ended Saturday Masses for 2025 on a high note! For Feast of the Holy Family, we had some nice traditional carols and great harmonies! I also appreciate everyone who helped the parishioner with a medical concern during Mass. Thankfully, it was nothing too serious! Here's the audio.
Happy New Year! Our January music and cantor schedule is ready. This includes selections for Mary, Mother of God (this Thursday @ 10:30 AM). If you'd like to look ahead, there are links to our shared folders for any new or less-common pieces :-).
We continue celebrating the Christmas season through January 10/11th (Baptism of the Lord). After that, we return to Ordinary Time for a month, before Lent kicks off on February 18th (Ash Wednesday). Holy Week is the first week of April, so we'll need to get into Easter planning fairly soon (I know...back-to-back seasons -- it's just how everything falls!).
If you'd like an overview of what's happening when, the Celebrations, Feasts & Holidays doc for 2026 has been posted to the website. Our group calendar is also being updated. Besides events, it includes music, cantors and who's here each week. If it's helpful, feel free to subscribe/add that calendar to your own!
Stay warm, and see you Saturday!
(All Mass Parts, except the Gospel Acclamation, are from Mass of Joy & Peace, including the Gloria, Holy, Eucharistic Acclamation 'B' (When We Eat This Bread), Doxology & Lamb of God)
Out: Karen, Frank
Entrance:
GC3 #462 - Epiphany Carol (O'Brien)
Materials (audio & sheet music)
**Since this is a bit long, let's keep the tempo as upbeat as possible. We'll plan for two verses (possibly 1 & 4), with the last phrase of the verse done as an interlude ("...Shine upon the gift that's given, Word made flesh now born in time."). Harmonies would be great!**
(Glory to God)
Responsorial Ps (Lisa):
SS #070 - Ps 72 - Lord, Every Nation (Manibusan)
Materials (audio & sheet music)
Acclamation (Ben):
SS #021 - Alleluia (vs 1) (Angrisano)
Preparation:
GC3 #463 - We Three Kings (Hopkins)
Materials (audio & sheet music)
**We'll probably get through at least 3-4 verses. Please watch for cues on the fermata (first bar of the refrain) -- we'll stretch this out a bit before going back to the normal tempo.**
(Mass Parts)
Communion:
GC3 #436 - Wood of the Cradle (O'Brien)
Materials (audio & sheet music)
**We don't do this one too often, so please take a look! Ideally, I'd like to get through the whole thing, so let's get it started early. Perhaps a brief instrumental, and then someone starts the singing?**
Closing:
GC3 #464 - Lord, Today (Balhoff)
Materials (audio & sheet music)
**Let's plan for three verses. Harmonies on the refrain would be great!**
