Thanks to Bev, Frank, Joe, Maureen, Ben & Barry for coming out last week! It was fun singing with you all at the mics :-). The new Sequence came together really well, and is definitely worth repeating next year! I also appreciate your flexibility with the different Baptism program. Here's the audio.
This weekend's celebration of St. Peter & Paul, Apostles is the last special Feast before we return to 'regular' Ordinary Time Masses. Stay tuned for July music in the next week or so!
Let's welcome back Victoria on piano! She'll be covering for Bev this week. The two of us are meeting Thursday evening (June 26th) @ 6:15 PM to review music.
UPDATE: 06/25: I believe Fr. Jozef is away this week (and next), so we'll likely have a visiting priest. We'll have to play some of the logistics by ear.
This isn't directly music-related, but a reminder to please schedule any activities at the Church through Karl, our Facilities Manager. Otherwise, if there's nothing on the calendar, the building may be locked after 3 PM (weekdays). I know most of you don't need to worry about this, but it came up recently with another group. Sharing just in case!
Don't forget that we switch back to Mass of Creation next weekend, July 5th. Please review before then! We'll take a bit of time that Saturday to go through the parts.
We have a new date for our late-Summer Potluck: Sept. 6th after Mass! The backup date is Sept. 13th. Please mark your calendars and sign up for food! Thanks to Bev for organizing.
Finally, the Office forwarded the 2025-26 Faith Formation schedule. Since some events will take place during Masses, I've added them to the Music Ministry calendar. More details closer to those dates.
Stay cool and have a great week!
(All Mass Parts, except the Gospel Acclamation, are from Mass of Remembrance, including the Gloria, Holy, Eucharistic Acclamation 'A' (We Proclaim Your Death), Doxology & Lamb of God)
Out: Karen, Bev, Maureen
Entrance:
GC3 #884 - For All the Saints (How)
Materials (**links removed**))
**This isn't one I'd normally program for a Saturday, but it fits the Readings. I'm presuming you're all familiar with the traditional melody :-). Note that verses 1, 2, 3, 7 & 8 are melody-only, while 4-6 (on the second page) have parts. We'll probably only sing three verses, though.**
(Glory to God)
Responsorial Ps (Frank):
GC3 #045 - Ps 34 - Taste and See (Haugen)
Materials (**links removed**))
**If anyone's interested, this has some nice harmonies on both the refrain & several of the verses.**
Acclamation (Cris):
SS #005 (GC3 #844) - Alleluia! Give the Glory (vs 3 or 4) (Canedo)
Preparation:
SS #137 (GC3 #790) - The Summons (Fisher)
Materials (**links removed**))
**Let's plan to include the interlude between verses and sing as many verses as needed.**
(Mass Parts)
Communion:
GC3 #945 - I Am the Bread of Life (Toolan)
Materials (**links removed**))
**As usual, let's try to include all four parts if possible! If someone would like to get the singing started, that would be great too!**
Closing:
GC3 #686 - Blest Be the Lord (Schutte)
Materials (**links removed**))
**Could we have one or two people on the harmony/echo during both the refrain & verses? Also, please be careful of rhythms on the verses!**
