Feast of the Holy Family

Merry Christmas! This post is going out a bit late for obvious reasons :-). We'll get back to the normal schedule next week.
A huge thanks to Barry, Bev, Ginny, Jake, Joe & Lisa for singing/playing for Christmas Masses! That especially goes for those who did more than one liturgy :-). Despite the planning challenges, everything came together quite well overall, and there were many positive comments afterward! From our music, some of my favorites were Masters in This Hall and Night of Silence / Silent Night.
Here's the audio from the 4:00 PM & 6:00 PM Masses; as well as the livestreams from the 6:00 PM & 10:30 AM Masses.
Our music for January (and possibly February) will be ready in the next week. We'll continue celebrating Christmas through January 12th; after that, we return to Ordinary Time for the remainder of January & February. Lent kicks off in March, so that'll be our next big season to plan. Stay tuned :-).
Also, Masses for Mary, Mother of God will be celebrated on December 31st @ 7 PM & January 1st @ 10:30 AM. We still need to sort out details, but I'll likely pick up the New Year's Day liturgy with Bev. If anyone would like to join us, the music will be included in the January plan.
With a new year right around the corner (where did 2024 go!?), please give some thought to what you'd like to see us do in 2025. In other words:
- What can we improve upon as a group?
- Are their any pieces and/or types of music you'd like to see us do?
- What are our goals for the next 12 months?
- Any other thoughts/ideas?
I'd really like us to keep growing & evolving as an ensemble (not just continuing to do 'the usual' because it's always been done that way). I have some ideas myself, but would really love everyone's input too. We may even want to chat about this at our upcoming February Potluck.
I think that's it! Here's to another great year of music-making! Thanks so much for all that you do for our Parish -- it's truly appreciated and really makes our liturgies special! Wishing you all a wonderful New Year, and let's see what shakes out in 2025!
