Feast of Christ the King

A huge thanks to Virginia for playing last week! There were quite a few positive comments on the music, so nicely done! I also appreciate everyone who was able to come out. Here's the audio.

Welcome to the final week of Ordinary Time and Liturgical Year B! We celebrate Christ the King this Saturday/Sunday, and kick off Advent the following weekend (Nov. 30th / Dec. 1st). Music for Advent (including the 6:00 PM Christmas Eve Mass) will be available in the next week.

Paul has been continuing work on the sound system (thanks, Paul!). He's gained access to the software for the Nexia mixer and has been working on equalization. So far, everything's sounding great! Thanks again to Joe & Ben for all of the help as well!

We may have a couple of new singers joining us -- welcome Barry & Lia! Barry will be joining us for rehearsals around 4:30 PM (due to work); Lia will also be joining us when her schedule allows.

A reminder that we're covering Mass for Thanksgiving Eve next Wednesday, Nov. 27th @ 7 PM. The music is on our November plan. If you're able to join Bev & I, we'll rehearse @ 6:15 PM.

Looking ahead, we'll be switching to Mass of Joy & Peace for Advent. Please review before Nov. 30th! Could we also meet at 3:30 that Saturday? This will give us some extra time to work through special music for the season.

An email just went out with dates for special liturgies throughout December. Please mark your calendars! We're sorting out who's doing what, so hopefully more on that soon.

The program for the Dec. 14th Christmas Pageant will also go out shortly (just confirming some logistics). Bev is unable to play (she'll be attending the NVS concert in the Sanctuary), so we're looking into coverage. I believe we're up to three singers, but could use one or two more :-).

Finally, planning for the Christmas Masses is coming along! We have about seven (7) 'adult' musicians for the 4:00 PM Mass (plus the Children's Choir, of course!), ten (10) for the 6:00 PM Mass and three (3) for 10:30 AM Christmas Day. Others who didn't respond will likely be pulled into the mix later. Stay tuned for info on music & rehearsals -- some emails have/will be going out this week :-).

See you Saturday!

(All Mass Parts, except the Gospel Acclamation, are from Storrington Mass, including Holy, Eucharistic Acclamation 'B' (When We Eat This Bread), Doxology & Lamb of God)

Out: Luca, Frank, Ben

Entrance:
GC3 #572 - The King of Glory (Jabusch)
Materials (**links removed**)

**Don't forget that except for the very first & last time, the refrain will be sung softly, with the verses much louder (like this). Let's plan to sing all five verses.**

(Glory to God)

Responsorial Ps (Lisa):
SS #084 - Ps 122 - I Rejoiced (Thomson)
Materials (**links removed**)

**Could we include the upper (and possibly lower?) harmony on the refrain?**

Acclamation (Cris):
SS #005 (GC3 #844) - Alleluia! Give the Glory (vs 3 or 4) (Canedo)

Preparation:
SS #100 (GC3 #569) - At the Name of Jesus (Walker)
Materials (**links removed**)

**Keep in mind that the verses are listed out-of-order. We'll sing as many as needed for Offertory. Harmonies would be nice too :-).**

(Mass Parts)

Communion:
GC3 #939 - Behold the Lamb (Willett)
Materials (**links removed**)

Commendation:
Song of Farewell (Schutte) [if needed]

Closing:
SS #179 - He is Exalted (Paris)
Materials (**links removed**)

**Please make sure you're comfortable with how this flows:

-Intro
-Verse ("He is exalted, the King is exalted on high..")
-Refrain ("He is the Lord; forever His truth shall reign...")
-Go to 1st Ending
-Repeat Verse & Refrain
-Go to 2nd Ending
-Repeat Refrain only
-Go to Final Ending

I hope that makes sense!**
