20th Sunday in Ordinary Time / Baptism

Thanks for a great small-group Mass last week! It was fun being at the mics and harmonizing with you all again! We're also making some good headway with Storrington MassHere's the audio

A reminder that Masses for Feast of the Assumption are this Wednesday, 08/14 @ 7 PM (Cris & Joanne) and Thursday, 08/15 @ 9 AM (Barb P. & Bev). The music is posted to the 10:30 & 8:30 pages. Please come join us if you're able!

We (re-) introduce Storrington Mass this week! A few notes:
  • If you haven't already, please make sure you're familiar with at least melody
  • If it's easier than working from the GC, feel free to use the sheet music scans linked below. These are from my copy of the Storrington Mass booklet (which the Church doesn't have). Joanne also posted similar scans to the homepage of our website
  • Don't forget that we're meeting at 3:30 PM again to make sure everything's in good shape.
  • We'll take a few minutes before Mass to review the Gloria with the congregation (per Fr. Jozef's request). We'll do the same with the other parts in the coming weeks.
Barb H. let me know today that we'll be celebrating a double-Baptism. Father Jozef agreed to follow our old Baptism program (the green booklets); we'll sing the usual 'We Believe' response and a Sprinkling Rite (Living Water, just to keep things simple).

UPDATE: 08/14: This Baptism has been rescheduled to 09/07.

We figured out what was 'off' about the choir seating last week! It turns out that when the floors were cleaned, we accidently lost a chair & book tray in the front row (there should be eight chairs -- two per mic). We're not sure where these went, but we'll get it sorted out. Everything else should be in order.

Looking ahead, we now have a guest pianist lined up for the 24th! Thanks to Barb P. for the lead! I'll be meeting with them next Friday to review music, and we'll go from there.

Finally, we'll be celebrating the Season of Creation throughout September. Because of this, I'll be revising the selections for 08/31 to include Creation-themed music (it's been pulled from the August plan for now). For those of you slated to cantor, the Psalm & Acclamation shouldn't change :-).

I think that's it! Obviously, there's a lot going on this week, so please be ready to start right at 3:30. Thanks as always and see you then!
