Season of Creation:
"To Hope and Act with Creation"
22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time

A huge thanks to Victoria for playing last week! There were a few small things here and there, but the program came together very well. The harmonies on the Mass Parts are also really starting to take shape. Our visiting priest, Fr. Joshi, and a number of others shared how much they enjoyed the music. Check out the audio here

Our September music & cantor schedule is ready to go! A few quick notes:
  • We'll be celebrating the Season of Creation all month with the theme "To Hope and Act with Creation". Like last year, the Parish's Laudato Si Ministry has asked that we include creation-themed music, so I've selected at least one piece per Mass.
  • We'll celebrate a double-Baptism on Sept. 7th (rescheduled from Aug. 17th); A Baptism Response & Sprinkling Rite has been added to the program. Please try to be there if possible!
  • Bev is out on Sept. 21st; we're working on coverage for that night (likely Virginia or Victoria).
As for Storrington Mass, let's plan to meet at 3:30 on Sept. 7th & 14th. Everything seems to be coming together nicely, but that'll give us some time to clean up the parts. Thanks again for look at these!

Please welcome Barry R. to the group! As mentioned a couple of weeks ago, Barry is a long-time Saturday Mass attendee and recently expressed interest in getting involved with the Ministry. It's great to have another singer onboard!

Looking ahead, the Advent/Christmas season is only three (!) months away! It's still early, but I'd like to get a sense of where we stand. Please let me know if you're unable to sing/play for Christmas Eve. We'll need to start looking at music in the next month or two, so that will really help with planning.

I think that's it! Have a great week, and if I don't see you, a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

(All Mass Parts, except the Gospel Acclamation, are from Storrington Mass, including Holy, Eucharistic Acclamation 'B' (When We Eat This Bread), Doxology & Lamb of God)

Out: Luca, Jake, Maureen, Ginny (sick)

Entrance:
GC3 #576 - Canticle of the Sun (vs 1-3) (Haugen)
Materials (**links removed**)

Glory to God:
Storrington Mass (Haugen)
Materials (**links removed**)

Responsorial Ps (Frank):
SS #056 - Ps 19 - Your Words Are Spirit and Life (Farrell)
Materials (**links removed**)

**If interested, there's separate sheet music in the folder that has parts. I believe we've played with including the alto & tenor parts in the past**

Acclamation (Cris):
SS #005 (GC3 #844) - Alleluia! Give the Glory (vs 3 or 4) (Canedo)

Preparation:
GC3 #658 (SS #160) - Seek Ye First (Lafferty)

**The intro & interlude will be the last line of the verse ('alleluia'). Also, the 'Optional Refrain, Descant, or Canon' can be sung under the verses or as as a separate verse (especially to fill time)**

Holy, Holy, Holy:
Storrington Mass (Haugen)
Materials (**links removed**)

Eucharistic Acclamation:
Storrington Mass (When We Eat This Bread) (Haugen)
Materials (**links removed**)

Doxology/Amen:
Storrington Mass (Haugen)
Materials (**links removed**)

Lamb of God:
Storrington Mass (Haugen)
Materials (**links removed**)

Communion:
GC3 #662 - Make Us Worthy (Mahler)
Materials (**links removed**)

**Please use the separate sheet music from GIA (we should have copies in the cabinet). Including parts would be nice; we'll also need at least one cantor for the verses (or these could be done together). The only change is we won't use the 'repeat ad lib' at the end -- we'll just end on the refrain normally**

Commendation:
Song of Farewell (Schutte) [if needed]

Closing:
GC3 #576 - Canticle of the Sun (vs 4-6) (Haugen)
