Trinity Sunday

Really nice job last week! It was fun having everyone on mics again and the harmonies sounded awesome! We had ostinato refrains, a three-part canon and a new Pentecost Sequence, all of which came together well. Thanks for coming early to work out the logistics! Here's the audio.
Last week, a poll went out to pick a date for sound system/choir area cleanup. I've heard back from a few of you and Thurs., 05/30 @ 6:00 PM is the winner! If you didn't vote but still want to join us, please do! More to come on a plan for that night. I'll also confirm that the Sanctuary is available.
My podium now has rubber bumpers! Since it's in a tight, high-traffic area, there's been concern over it easily sliding around and being a tripping hazard. The new bumpers are very grippy and it takes some force to lift the podium off of the floor now. Just a heads up in case you have to move it :-).
I ended up making a couple of tweaks to this week's music:
- Our Offertory song was changed from How Great Thou Art to a new piece, What is Our Service to Be. Apologies for the late change, but the program wasn't balancing out very well (Trinity is always a challenge to select for; plus, this tune has been on the list to try for a while).
- Rather than having two, back-to-back Closing songs (like last year), we'll now sing America the Beautiful only (this matches what the Sunday folks are doing).
Our music for June is in the works and should be ready in the next week or so. I'll do my best to plan music and cantor coverage around Summer schedules, but we can always tweak as needed.
Looking ahead, next weekend we celebrate the Body and Blood of Christ. After that, we return to Ordinary Time until Advent kicks off in December. We'll also continue singing Mass of Remembrance until the switch to Storrington Mass in mid-August.
I think that's it. If I don't see you, have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
(All Mass Parts, except the Gospel Acclamation, are from Mass of Remembrance, including the Gloria, Holy, Eucharistic Acclamation 'B' (Save Us, Savior), Doxology & Lamb of God)
Out: Luca
Entrance:
GC3 #576 - Canticle of the Sun (vs 1-3) (Haugen)
Materials (**links removed**)
(no Sprinkling)
(Gloria)
Responsorial Ps (Cris):
GC3 #044 - Ps 33 - Let Your Mercy Be on Us (Ref III) (Haugen)
Materials (**links removed**)
**Would anyone like to join me on parts (Refrain III & verses 3 & 4)? If not, melody-only is fine :-)**
Acclamation (Frank):
SS #005 (GC3 #844) - Alleluia! Give the Glory (vs 6 or 7) (Canedo)
Preparation:
SS #146 - What is Our Service to Be (Crandal) [NEW]
Materials (**links removed**)
**Please take a look at this. The melody for verses 1, 2 & 4 is the same; only verse 3 is different. Don't worry about the harmonies for now. Since it's a bit short, we may need to repeat verses. And because this is a late addition, I'm happy to lead it if needed.**
(Mass Parts)
Communion:
GC3 #932 (SS #161) - One Bread, One Body (Foley)
Materials (**links removed**)
**Frank, would you be interested in getting this one started while everyone else goes up to receive? That seemed to work well last time.**
Commendation:
Song of Farewell (Schutte) [if needed]
Song of Farewell (Schutte) [if needed]
Closing:
GC3 #984 - America the Beautiful (Bates)
Materials (**links removed**)
**Please take a look at the parts. This is a standard arrangement and we'll likely do all four verses.**
