Thanks for another strong Mass last week! It was wonderful being almost fully-staffed (plus several guests!), a rarity for a holiday weekend. The harmonies on several pieces sounded great! What is Our Service to Be also came together pretty well for a first run. Here's the audio.

A reminder that we're meeting this Thursday, 05/30, @ 6:00 PM to do some work on the sound system (the space has been booked with the Office). We'll also do some general cleanup of the choir area & cabinet. Everyone's welcome to join! An email went out Monday with details.

Our music and cantor schedule for June is ready to go! Let me know if you see any issues and we'll tweak the schedule accordingly.

We have several folks out this week. Please be prepared for a small-group Mass with everyone on mics. We can try gathering around the guitar stand like we've done a few times before. Let's split out parts, etc. as much as possible to keep things interesting :-).

Also, we'll probably have time to look at Storrington Mass again. Let's focus on the Holy, Eucharistic Acclamation, Doxology & Lamb of God for now. We're still planning to (re-)introduce this in mid-August, so this will give us a head start.

Looking ahead, there are some prep/rehearsal tasks that I'd like to try delegating out. Some of these are things that several of you more-or-less do already (thank you!), while others I'm handling myself. This would spread out the workload and make setup/cleanup a bit easier. Here are a few examples:
  • Add/remove numbers from hymn boards
  • Lead prayer before rehearsal
  • Lead warmups before rehearsal
  • Reset choir space after Mass
  • Coordinate monthly or quarterly dinners
  • Others?
With Summer kicking off, there's no big rush to start this, though. We can discuss who might be interested in doing what (no pressure!) and go from there.

Thanks as always for everything you do and have a great week!
