2nd Sunday of Lent

Thanks for a solid start to the Lenten season! Getting a head start on the music really helped, I think! There were a number of positive comments on Hold Us In Your Mercy and Mercy, O God is coming together pretty nicely. I also appreciate your flexibility with that RCIA Rite of Sending -- my bad for not having that on the board! Here's the audio.

We ran into some issues last week with one of the music stands. Nothing appears to be broken, but it won't stay up or down. Jake offered to bring another stand we can use for now; Joe may also have a fix that we can try. Thanks to Jake & Joe for looking into this!

A reminder that our next Lent/Easter rehearsal is this Saturday at 3 PM. We do have folks out, but with everything going on, I still think it's worth meeting. We'll look at verses for Praise and Honor, as well as music for March 2nd (see below), Good Friday & Easter Sunday. Let me know if this doesn't work!

UPDATE: 02/23: Lent rehearsal is canceled this week -- Bev isn't able to join us until 4:00 and we have some others out. We'll touch on some things during rehearsal rehearsal instead.

Looking at this week's music, it would be great to include the descants on Change Our Hearts & Though the Mountains May Fall. Also, please take a look at All That is Hidden if it's unfamiliar. And don't forget about the a capella final refrain on Remember Your Love :-).

At a ceremony last Sunday, Good Shepherd officially formed a Knights of Columbus Council. The Catholic Daughters are in the process of doing the same. Their organizer was in touch with me to discuss music for Saturday, 03/02, as their ceremony will be during/after Mass. More to come, but please mark your calendars! It would be wonderful to be fully-staffed for this special event!

Barb P. and I have been discussing Good Friday (03/29 @ 2 PM) & Easter Sunday (03/31 @ 8:30 AM). We'll take point on both, but also join forces with the 8:30 folks. With changes to Mass schedules more recently, sorting out coverage is trickier than in the past. Next year, Barb's group may take the lead for the 8:30 AM liturgy, as that's their usual timeslot. Stay tuned for the music!

Finally, it looks like we have several people out, so we'll likely need everyone on mics. If anyone else is unavailable, please let me know for planning.
