Songs & Updates for Saturday, October 8, 2022 [updated]

28th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Thanks to all who were able to come out last week! It was a bit of a more laid back, subdued program than our usual, but a nice change in pace. Here's the audio.

Last Saturday was our final weekend for the Season of Creation. We're back to 'normal' Ordinary Time liturgies until Advent kicks off at the end of November.

A reminder that we have three music stand lights available in the cabinet. This might help a little with the lighting issues in the choir area. I'll bring fresh batteries.

I ended up using Bob Dufford's version of All the Ends of the Earth for the Psalm. It's not written as such, but should work fine if sung in the usual Psalm format. The lyrics are based on Ps 98.

We should have time for all four verses on Sing of the Lord's Goodness. Including the descant would be great :-). We'll also need to be careful about muddying things with the fast, wordy text (the same goes for the verses on Praise to You, O Christ, Our Savior).

Finally, for Christmas preludes, we'll likely return to 3 PM Saturday rehearsals later this month (if that time still works), with a dress rehearsal the Friday before (12/23). Nothing's confirmed yet, but I do have some music possibilities depending on what our numbers & the schedule look like. Stay tuned.
