Season of Creation
24th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Thanks for a great liturgy last week! We had a well-balanced program and it was nice to be mostly fully-staffed again. Keep Me Safe, O God was especially a highlight. Check out the audio here.
I'd like to officially welcome Rich to the group! I believe most of you already met Rich earlier in August or this past week. He'll be joining us more regularly starting in mid-October.
As Father mentioned last Saturday, we're celebrating the Season of Creation this month. Father has Canticle of the Sun for Gathering/Sending. I'd expect to see other similar songs as we go. Keep in mind that the rhythms on Canticle aren't all the same -- we should review these during rehearsal.
For Shepherd of My Heart, let's be super careful of tempo. This one can easily be taken too fast (the recording below is just about perfect). Harmony would be great if anyone's able.
Please take a look at our Communion song, We Come to Your Feast. We've only done this one a few times before. Like last week, we should start this fairly early, as the refrain & verses are long.
Finally, it's not too soon to start thinking about music for Advent/Christmas. Let me know if you have any ideas. I'd love to get a jump-start on planning. As a reminder, here are last year's Christmas preludes: Arise, Shine!, The Angel Gabriel & I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day.
That's all for now. Have a good one!
