Nice work last week! It was fun having Chris W. with us and everything came together pretty well. I think Voice of Christ is worth doing again and just needs a bit of cleanup. Here's the audio.
Our music & cantor schedule for October is ready to go. As always, we can tweak if any issues.
Please welcome Jake to the group! He came by after Mass last Saturday and would like to sing with us.
Last week, I mentioned taking some time during rehearsals to work on things like phrasing, cutoffs & dynamics. It seems like cutoffs are a good place to start. Moving forward, I'll try to be more careful of these. And if any cues aren't clear, please tell me so we can tweak/try something different.
Father has Canticle of the Sun on again for Gathering/Sending. A reminder to be careful of rhythms. Also, don't forget about the final note, which we'll sustain full-length and treat like a fermata.
If you're not familiar with the Psalm, please take a look. We've only done this once or twice before. It should be a nice change in pace from our usual version of Psalm 95, If Today.
For I Am the Bread of Life, let's try to keep this very upbeat (think more along these lines). Also, watch out for the melodies on each verse (they're all different). Harmony on the refrain would be great :-).
Finally, it's still pretty early, but if you can, please let me know your Christmas Eve availability (Mass schedule TBD; I'm assuming 4 PM as usual). I'm starting to look at music/preludes and it would be helpful to have an idea of who's able to be there. We'll probably start working on music in October.
