22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time
Thanks for a great Guitar Mass last week! It's been a very long time since we've done one of these, and breaking out my saxophone again was quite a bit of fun (although I made more than a few mistakes along the way :-). We had a fair number of guests in attendance and our music seemed to be well-received. Audio HERE.
For those not aware, the Church just replaced the lighting control system in the Sanctuary, as the old hardware was worn out and not working properly. If you have a need to turn on the Sanctuary lights (at least for now), the new breaker panel can be found in the same spot in the Sacristy as the old one; switch #5 turns on the lights above the choir/alter, plus the wall sconces on three sides.
The GC version of Gather Your People (linked below) has a bunch of voice parts that aren't in SS. Please take a look if you have a chance -- it would be nice to include some of these if possible. Also, cantors are needed for the verses on Bring Forth the Kingdom. Let me know if interested!
As it stands now, dinner after Mass is a go (we have about six people staying so far -- there's still time to sign up HERE if you'd like to attend). The kitchenette will be our staging area, and we'll eat in the Warehouse or outside (fire circle), depending on the weather.
Looking ahead, Bev is out on 09/07. We'll need to see if this will be another Guitar Mass, or if piano coverage is needed. On a similar note, Jim will be going on sabbatical in September and will be out quite a few Saturdays. Stay tuned.
