Songs & Updates for Saturday, August 17, 2019 [updated]

Huge thanks to all who were able to sing/play for Dee's funeral! We had piano, organ, guitar, bass, saxophone and a large mixed choir. It was a beautiful celebration and a worthy send-off for someone who's had such a tremendous impact on our Parish. I realize several of you weren't able to be there due to travel and other commitments, so if you'd like, check out the audio HERE. Please keep Dee's family and Father Charlie in your prayers this week.

Regular Mass was lightly attended, even by Saturday standards. We were a small group with piano/violin accompaniment and everyone at the mics. Despite our limited numbers, pieces such as I Am the Bread of Life sounded quite nice. Maggie and Bev's choice of preludes (a lovely arrangement of Simple Gifts) was also very appropriate given the circumstances. Audio HERE.

 A reminder that we're covering Mass for Feast of the Assumption on Wednesday, 08/14, at 7 PM. Rehearsal will be at 6 PM. As it stands now, Bev, Maggie and I are onboard. I'm planning to cantor unless anyone else is interested. Please come join in the singing if you can -- the final program can be found HERE.

It looks like 08/24 will be a Guitar Mass (Bev is out). If anyone else is not available that weekend, please let me know so we can plan accordingly. Just want to make sure all the bases are covered since we don't do Guitar Masses too often these days.

The sign-up for our after-Mass dinner on 08/31 is now available (HERE). If folks are up for it, this could make for a nice end-of-summer/holiday weekend get-together. I'd encourage everyone to stick around for some good food and social time, even if you don't normally. Again, if this date doesn't work, we can cancel/reschedule.
