Season of Creation: Living Water
24th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Thanks for another strong Mass last week! The Season of Creation is off to a good start, I think!
The visiting priest was easy to work with, and using a tablet for music seemed to work pretty nicely. Healing River is starting to come together too for a first run! We'll definitely look at that transition into verse three next time, though :-). Here's the audio.
If interested, here's the Music Ministry report that was submitted to the Prayer & Worship Chair for last week's Pastoral Council meeting (thanks, Barb P.!). After taking a few months off, the Council is back to meeting the first Wednesday/month. As always, if you have anything for these reports, let me know!
Bev sent a poll for another Potluck (last one for the year!). If you haven't already, please let her know what works, and we'll nail down a date.
Speaking of polls -- last month, we started talking about getting together for wiring and choir cabinet cleanup. If you'd still like to help with either/both projects (no pressure!), I'll put out some possible dates shortly. Sorry, some other things came up that delayed things!
A concern was brought to my attention last week regarding the organ. Could we please not place any items on top of it (books, tissues, etc.)? We want to respect all of the instruments/gear in the choir area and make sure they're not being used as storage. (No worries, I'm guilty of doing this myself!)
Finally, on Saturday, I'll need to head out around 6:30 PM for an SCCS concert dress rehearsal. You guys do this already, but if you wouldn't mind helping with cleanup, that would be wonderful.

**We haven't sung this in a while! Let's follow the written arrangement -- after the intro, a cantor sings the refrain once (any takers?), and everyone repeats. After that, we only sing the refrain once between verses. Let's stick with the English text and sing all three verses.**

**We'll sing all three verses. Please be careful of phrasing! Generally, we only want to pause when there's punctuation; that way, the phrases sound more natural. If we by chance need more time, let's repeat a verse or add an instrumental.**

**We didn't have a chance to look at this, so please make sure you're comfortable with melody! The tune is in cantor/response format. For now, I'll sing the sections marked 'Cantor' (verses), while everyone else sings 'All' (responses and refrain). Even though the verses are wordy, it moves along at a pretty fast clip!
Down the line, we could try splitting the cantor/all parts as men/women instead. I'd love to include the harmonies too (practice tracks are in the folder). But we can also hold off on that for now.**
