Songs & Updates for Saturday, July 20, 2019 [updated]

Last week, we ended up with a smaller group than originally anticipated, but still pulled off a pretty solid program. Thanks to all who were able to come! There was some nice vocal work on The Servant Song, and our Communion piece was also quite a bit of fun. A fellow music minister in the congregation later commented on how well balanced everything was. Check out the recordings HERE.

Huge thanks to those who were able to sing/play for Ashley's Celebration of Life this morning. We were a mixed ensemble of musicians from the Saturday and Sunday Choirs, as well as a few former Parish musicians who returned for the occasion. It was nice to see so many folks come out in support of the family, especially under such tragic circumstances. We literally had a full house, with standing room only and people sitting in the back rows of the choir. It was a difficult morning, but a beautiful liturgy that seemed to be well received by all. Please keep the family in your prayers this week.

If you'd be interested in cantoring a verse on Bring Forth the Kingdom, let me know. Likewise, we'll need someone to cantor the first refrain and verse or so on We Come Today.

For those looking for some weekend entertainment, Group Therapy will be performing on Friday, 07/19, from 6-8 PM at Big Spring. They'll be introducing a new lead singer, so check it out!

On a similar note, a small summer community choir I sing with, Bald Eagle Chorale, will be performing on Saturday, 08/03, at 7 PM (details HERE). The concert, entitled 'The Music of Creation', is in support of the Out of the Cold program, which Good Shepherd (and other local churches) hosts. If you're looking for some post-Mass entertainment, I'd encourage you to come see the show.

Finally, I'm considering pushing back our quarterly dinner by a month. It seems like the end of July isn't a good time, as several folks are potentially out. how does 08/31 look instead?
