Songs & Updates for Saturday, June 30, 2018 [updated]

13th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Nice job last week! With a full compliment of instrumentalists (it's been a while :-), we were able to pull off several classic and new(-ish) pieces. Special thanks to Eva for joining us on piano, and Maggie and Ken for tackling the Psalm. If you have some time, check out the recordings HERE -- definitely worth a listen.

The music for July (HERE) has been sent to the Office. Will let you know of any changes. Stay tuned for the cantor schedule.

Please review the Psalm, I Will Praise You, Lord. We've only done it once or twice before.

This will be our final week of doing O Taste and See for Communion. I know it's been a challenge, but we've made quite a bit of progress in a relatively short amount of time. Hopefully, having a large group last week gave everyone a sense of how this is supposed to sound. We could probably use a few more weeks to finish working out the bugs, but I get the feeling that folks are ready to move on. We can always revisit this at a later time.

Since the 4th of July is next Wednesday, America the Beautiful is on the board as a postlude. Depending on what our numbers look like, this could be sung or done as an instrumental.

Finally, next week's Offertory song, Come to Me, O Weary Traveler, would sound great in parts. We did this once before, but it's been a long time. If interested, materials can be found HERE.

Lisa and Ginny are (tentatively) out this week. If I don't see you, enjoy the holiday!

UPDATE: 06/28: Our July music has been approved with no changes.

UPDATE: 06/29: Barb discovered a mistake in the songsheet. Our Postlude, America the Beautiful, was accidentally listed as the Closing song rather than City of God. We could probably do either for Closing, but I'm leaning towards the latter since Father generally doesn't like patriotic songs during liturgy. We can sort this out tomorrow, but just wanted to give you a heads up.
