Final Running Update: Lifting of Restrictions, Multiple Masses & 'The New Normal'

This will likely be my sixth (!) and final Running Updates post (see the others here, hereherehere & here). With the lifting of many COVID restrictions, the return to multiple Masses and plenty to reevaluate with Good Shepherd's 'New Normal', posts will likely return to their pre-Pandemic form.

UPDATE: 05/22: In an update to the previously-updated Diocesan guidelines, effective 05/31, many COVID restrictions have been lifted and churches can (mostly) resume normal operations. One of the biggest changes for Good Shepherd's 'new normal' will be a revised Mass schedule. Survey will be coming out tomorrow, but choices will be 5 PM Sat & 9 AM Sun or 5 PM Sat and 10:30 AM Sun. No word yet on how music coverage will work. stay tuned.

UPDATE: 05/23: The Mass survey is available HERE

UPDATE: 05/29: Preliminary choir discussions point to our group covering the 'new' Saturday Mass moving forward; no official word yet, though.

UPDATE: 05/30: Please be prepared for a return to Saturday Masses as early as next weekend, June 5/6. Lots of details still being worked out, though; stay tuned.

UPDATE: 05/31: Happy Memorial Day!

UPDATE: 06/01: No need to worry about a Saturday Mass this weekend. Long story short, a boatload of things are still being sorted out, including on the choir side. Look for this schedule change to happen in perhaps a couple of weeks. And feel free to join Bev & I for Mass on Sunday @ 10 AM :-).

UPDATE: 06/03: The final word on the Mass schedule is 5 PM Sat. & 10:15 AM Sun. See email for details. This will go into effect next weekend, June 12-13.

UPDATE: 06/06: I'm going to apologize in advance for the extra emails this week - much is still being finalized. I'd ask that anyone planning to sing or play sign up HERE. This will help with planning & logistics until things stabilize. Thanks!

Be well and keep the Faith!
