Songs & Updates for Saturday, May 9, 2026

6th Sunday of Easter

Thanks to everyone who came out last week! A few small issues popped up, but everything came together pretty well. And it was fun singing with you all at the mics again :-). Here's the audio.

I also had a chance to chat with the family of the girl who received First Communion. They're moving out of the area soon, but shared how much they've enjoyed music at Saturday Mass. It sounds like their daughter is musically-inclined -- if not for the move, she may have joined us at some point!

Paul has been doing more work on the sound system (thanks, Paul!). He discovered that the hard knobs on the mixer were out-of-whack again, so the mics needed to be re-balanced. Those knobs are super sensitive, so we're thinking some of them were bumped over the last year. The mix is much better now.

Paul also installed a Laptop Direct Box. This will allow us to play audio from a computer (or other devices) though the system. Due to interference from other components, we're not going to leave it connected all the time, though; it'll be stored in the Sacristy and plugged into the mixer when needed.

Please welcome Rita to the group! She joined us a couple of weeks ago for First Communion, and is returning this weekend.

Finally, a reminder that Masses for Ascension are next Wednesday, 05/13 @ 7 PM & Thursday, 05/14 @ 9 AM. Since we're taking point on the evening liturgy, it would be great to pull together a small group for this! That way, it's not just Bev and I :-). Let me know if you're able to help! I'm hoping to finalize the music plan this week.

I think that's it. Wishing you a lovely Mother's Day weekend, and see you Saturday!

(All Mass Parts, except the Gospel Acclamation, are from Mass of Remembrance, including the Gloria, Holy, Eucharistic Acclamation 'A' (We Proclaim Your Death), Doxology & Lamb of God)

Out: Karen, Jake

Entrance:
GC3 #534 - Now the Green Blade Rises (Crum)

**We're going a bit old-school with this one! Let's plan to sing all four verses. Like we chatted about last week, we may also add a brief tag/interlude between the verses.**

(Sprinkling & Glory to God)

Responsorial Ps (Cris):
SS #069 - Ps 66 - Let All the Earth (Angrisano/Tomaszek)

**Don't forget that there's a key change for the final refrain! We'll repeat the refrain, before going into the final ending (all as written).**

Acclamation (Lisa):
SS #005 (GC3 #844) - Alleluia! Give the Glory (vs 7) (Canedo)

Preparation:
GC3 #524 - Alleluia No. 1 (Fishel)

**Since this is Offertory, we'll probably get through 3-4 verses. If we could include the descant on the refrain and harmonies on the verses, that would be wonderful!**

(Mass Parts)

Communion:
GC3 #535 -Resucitó (Arguello)

**Could we start with an instrumental, before adding in singers? Any takers to kick things off?

Also, time-permitting, we may try adding an a capella refrain at the end. We've done this before, but it's been a while. And don't forget about the 'Alleluia' Coda!**

Closing:
SS #132 - One Spirit, One Church (Keil)

**This tune is slightly long, but let's aim for singing both verses. An upbeat tempo will help keep it moving too. And if interested, there are separate choral parts in the folder :-).**
