30th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Thanks to everyone who sang or played last week! It was fun joining you all at the mics again :-). There were many positive comments from folks who came for Mass and Fr. Charles' party. The visitors were especially impressed by the music and the Parish's hospitality. Nicely done! Here's the audio.
A reminder that Time & Talent is after all Masses this weekend, October 25th & 26th. If anyone's able to stick around and help with recruiting, that would be great! We could definitely use a few more musicians to expand our core group! I may try to say something at the end of Mass too.
The choir leads are meeting with Fr. Jozef this Monday (October 27th) about Christmas logistics. Again, we're tentatively planning for the 6:30 PM Christmas Eve Mass, but we'll see what shakes out. Stay tuned!
In the meantime, please complete this poll to let me know your availability. That way, once the details are finalized, we have a good idea of where we stand. Don't worry about the non-Saturday options, though -- I may use this later to coordinate with others (if needed!).
Don't forget that our Halloween/All Souls potluck is next Saturday, November 1st. Please RSVP if you haven't already! Spouses/family are welcome too. It should be a fun time, with plenty of food :-).
Finally, could we tentatively plan to kick off Advent/Christmas rehearsals on Saturday, November 8th @ 3:30 PM? That'll give us time to sort out music.
That's all for now; have a great week!
(All Mass Parts, except the Gospel Acclamation, are from Mass of Creation, including the Gloria, Holy, Eucharistic Acclamation 'C' (Save Us, Savior), Doxology & Lamb of God)
Out: Jake, Karen
Entrance:
GC3 #600 - Sing Praise to God (Haugen)
Materials (**links removed**))
**Please take a look if unfamiliar -- we've only done this a couple of times before! The syncopation is especially tricky in places!
Harmonies would be lovely! We may not sing all of the verses, depending on the timing.**
(Glory to God)
Responsorial Ps (Ginny):
SS #063 (GC3 #047) - Ps 34 - The Cry of the Poor (Foley)
Materials (**links removed**))
**Something to watch out for is the tempo change between the refrain and verses. In other words, the verses will be slightly faster than the refrain. Of course, the final tempos will be at the cantor's discretion, but there should be a noticeable difference when going back and forth.**
Acclamation (Cris):
SS #021 - Alleluia (vs 1) (Angrisano)
Preparation:
GC3 #622 - Canticle of the Turning (Cooney)
Materials (**links removed**))
**Ideally, I'd like to sing all four verses. But we'll play it by ear and see how far we get! Including the three-part split on the refrain would be great! Let's also use the last phrase of the refrain as an interlude between verses.**
(Mass Parts)
Communion:
GC3 #662 - Make Us Worthy (Mahler)
Materials (**links removed**))
**It's been a little while since we've done this. Please review and make sure you're comfortable with the harmonies and structure!
I'd suggest working from the choral arrangement (there are copies in the cabinet). The verses could be cantored or sung as a group -- if cantored, I'd suggest not worrying about the 'Oohs' under the verses.
Also note that verse 2 is slightly different between the GC and choral arrangements. I don't have a strong preference on which version we use, as long as we'll all singing the same one :-).
For the Final Refrain, watch out for the key change! We'll skip the ad-lib repeat, going straight to the Final Ending instead. Everything else will be as written.**
Closing:
SS #121 - In the Day of the Lord (vs 1, 5 & 6) (Ridge)
Materials (**links removed**))
