Thanks for a strong Mass last week! Songs like Sing Praise to God and the Alleluia are really starting to gel; Make Us Worthy was fun to pull out again too! Here's the audio

We didn't have much success with Time & Talent (lots of Sunday folks & guests in attendance), but I appreciate everyone who stuck around!

Our November music and cantor schedule is ready! A few quick notes:
  • Because All Saints falls on Saturday this year, there's no dedicated Mass; instead, parishioners who have passed since last November will be honored during the 10:30 AM Mass.
  • Likewise, All Souls is normally a separate weekday liturgy; since it falls on Sunday this year, we'll celebrate it at all weekend Masses instead.
  • We have some special Feasts this month: the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica on Nov. 8th and Christ the King on Nov. 22nd. Of course, Advent kicks off on Nov. 29th. I ended up including music for the 29th in the plan, but will update if anything changes!
  • Please take a look at some new/less-familiar pieces for this month:
    • Finally, Thanksgiving Eve Mass will be on Nov. 26th & Immaculate Conception on Dec. 8th. If we end up needing to cover one (or both) of those, I'll update the music plan.

Don't forget that our Halloween/All Souls potluck is this Saturday after Mass. There's still time to RSVP! As usual, the Kitchenette will be our staging area. If you have anything to prep, please come before 4:00 so that we don't lose rehearsal time! We'll eat in the Warehouse around 6:15 PM.

The choir leads met with Fr. Jozef yesterday to discuss Christmas. Long story short, we don't have a definitive answer on coverage yet. The plan is to use this new survey (different from last week's) to find out everyone's preferences. From there, we'll work out coverage. The poll will go out to the entire Ministry shortly. I'm sorry for sending another one of these, but it was the best approach we could come up with. I'll do the best I can to nail down a schedule as quickly as possible!

Finally, the Killoren books will be distributed in the Sanctuary tomorrow (Wednesday). If you'd like to take a look, they should be in place by the weekend. Moving forward, we'll be able to use Dcn. Bob's music whenever we'd like :-).

UPDATE: 10/30: I'll be making an announcement about the Killoren books before the Commentator speaks at the beginning of Mass. The same will happen at the 8:30 & 10:30 Masses. Barb H. thought it would be appropriate for the choir leads to handle this.

I think that's it. Happy Halloween, and see you Saturday!

(All Mass Parts, except the Gospel Acclamation, are from Mass of Creation, including the Gloria, Holy, Eucharistic Acclamation 'C' (Save Us, Savior), Doxology & Lamb of God)

    Out: Karen

    Entrance:
SS #151 - Come to the Lord (Angrisano/Tomaszek)

**This is a tad long, but let's plan to sing all three verses; at the end, we'll go to the final refrain with the key change.**

    (Glory to God)

    Responsorial Ps (Jake):
    SS #059 (GC3 #035) - Ps 23 - Shepherd Me, O God (Haugen)

**Including the harmony on the refrain would be great! Also, don't forget that the transition into verse four is shorter than the rest. And if interested, there's an additional harmony for this verse in GC :-).**

    Acclamation (Ginny):
    SS #021 - Alleluia (vs 1) (Angrisano)

    Preparation:
GC3 #727 - Come to Me, O Weary Traveler (Dunstan)

**Ideally, I'd like to sing all four verses in parts (practice tracks are in the folder). We'll probably need to repeat verses, with the last one done a capella.**

    (Mass Parts)

    Communion:
SS #155 - Lead Us to Your Table (Angrisano/Tomaszek)

**Please review before Saturday -- the timing and flow can be a bit tricky! It'll be structured something like this:

    -Intro
    -Verse (x2)
    -Refrain
    -Verse
    -Refrain
    -Verse (key change)
    -Refrain (x2)
    -Final

If that doesn't make sense, here's a good sample recording.**

    Closing:
GC3 #871 - We Shall Rise Again (Young)

**Since this is fairly long, we'll probably only sing 2-3 verses (depending on the timing).**
