Songs & Updates for Saturday, August 30, 2025

22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time

Thanks for another solid small-group Mass last week! I Am the Bread of Life and God Has Chosen Me were probably our strongest of the night! Here's the audio.

Father mentioned over the weekend that the new Killoren books are now being printed. Once ready, we can use Dcn. Bob's music whenever we'd like. We'll just need to sort out how to display these songs on the hymn boards. If you'd like a personal copy, I believe these will be available for sale as well.

Our music and cantor schedule for September is almost ready! Other than celebrating the Season of Creation and one other special feast, it's looking like a fairly normal month. As always, please let me know of any weekends you're out so that we can plan accordingly.

Since we've been doing Alleluia! Give the Glory for over two years, I'd like to try something different in September. Some of you may remember the Alleluia from Mass of a Joyful Heart, which we last did 15+ years ago. Time-permitting, let's take a look on Saturday. If we don't like it, we can always switch back!

Don't forget that our Potluck is September 6th after Mass. Please RSVP if you haven't already! It's looking like there's a Mexican theme so far :-). This could be a good chance to chat about Fall planning too.

Finally, I'm happy to share that we have a new young person joining us in mid-September! Let's give them a 5:00 Choir welcome! Hopefully, this will be the beginning of more youth involvement with our group, something we've been lacking for a while.

I think that's it. If I don't see you, have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

(All Mass Parts, except the Gospel Acclamation, are from Mass of Creation, including the Gloria, Holy, Eucharistic Acclamation 'C' (Save Us, Savior), Doxology & Lamb of God)

Out: Karen

Entrance:
GC3 #850 - All Are Welcome (vs 1, 2 & 5) (Haugen)
Materials (**links removed**))

**We don't do this tune too often, so please make sure you're familiar with melody. It would be great to include the descant on verse five too!**

(Glory to God)

Responsorial Ps (Lisa):
SS #072 - P 91 - Be With Me (Hurd)
Materials (**links removed**))

**Don't forget that the refrain is in cantor/response format. The cantor will sing the upper line (marked 'Cantor') and the choir the lower line (marked 'All'). We'll still sing the refrain twice the first time.**

Acclamation (Frank):
SS #005 (GC3 #844) - Alleluia! Give the Glory (vs 1, 2, 3 or 4) (Canedo)

Preparation:
GC3 #724 - I Heard the Voice Jesus Say (Bonar)
Materials (**links removed**))

**Let's plan to sing all three verses, and repeat (or add an instrumental) if needed. There will be no interlude between verses, just a brief pause. Ideally, this would be great in four parts! Practice tracks are in the folder :-).**

(Mass Parts)

Communion:
GC3 #941 - Eat This Bread (Berthier)
Materials (**links removed**))

**Including the four-part harmony on the refrain would be lovely! Also, we can either have someone cantor the verses, or sing them all together (like we tried the last time).**

Closing:
SS #106 (GC3 #766) - City of God (Schutte)
Materials (**links removed**))

**Unless Father processes out super early, let's see if we can sing all four verses. We always talk about doing this, but never do!**
