Songs & Updates for Saturday, June 14, 2025

Trinity Sunday

Thanks to all who came out last week! We wrapped the Easter season on a high note! Jesus, Your Spirit in Us (in four parts) was definitely a standout! Next year, though, we'll meet early and sort out Pentecost cantor parts ahead of time. My bad for not quite have it all together :-). Here's the audio.

Welcome back to Ordinary Time! We celebrate several more special feasts throughout June, before returning to 'regular' Ordinary Time Masses in July. Since we're also switching to Mass of Creation in July, we'll review those parts over the next few weeks.

A reminder that the Potluck we originally had scheduled for this weekend is canceled. If you haven't already, please vote in Bev's poll for a new date (likely in September).

You may have noticed that Good Shepherd recently launched a new website. Content is still being added/updated, but please let me know if you spot anything music-related that needs to be updated. I can reach out to the Office about any tweaks.

Finally, we're tentatively planning the next Time & Talent for October 25th & 26th. Something to think about this Summer is how we can pull others into our Ministry. We already have an awesome core group, but additional members would give us more options. Surely there are others whose talents we haven't tapped yet?! I know we've discussed this before, but I'm always open to ideas!

That's all for now -- if I don't see you, have a great Father's Day weekend!

(All Mass Parts, except the Gospel Acclamation, are from Mass of Remembrance, including the Gloria, Holy, Eucharistic Acclamation 'A' (We Proclaim Your Death), Doxology & Lamb of God)

Out: Karen, Frank, Barry, Maureen

Entrance:
GC3 #576 - Canticle of the Sun (vs 1-3) (Haugen)
Materials (**links removed**))

**Please be careful of rhythms, especially the dotted eighths & sixteenths that are mixed in with regular eighth notes. It's easy to get out-of-sync with the accompaniment! Harmonies would be lovely :-).**

(Glory to God)

Responsorial Ps (Jake):
Old GC #020 - Ps 8 - How Glorious is Your Name (Cooney)
Materials (**links removed**))

**This Psalm isn't in our current book, so please print a copy (I'll try to bring a few extras too). We should also make an announcement so that the congregation isn't confused. I'd definitely suggest looking this over before Saturday -- sorry, it's a bit wonky in places!

For the Refrain, the melody is the center line (marked 'Alto & Melody'). The upper line is a Soprano descant and the lower lines Tenor & Bass harmonies.

Also, for verse three, there's a 'Cantor 1' / 'Cantor 2' split. This isn't really required. The melody is 'Cantor 1' (plus the first couple of bars of 'Cantor 2'). I hope that all makes sense!**

Acclamation (Frank Lisa):
SS #005 (GC3 #844) - Alleluia! Give the Glory (vs 3 or 4) (Canedo)

Preparation:
SS #134 (GC3 #582) - Rain Down (Cortez)
Materials (**links removed**))

(Mass Parts)

Communion:
GC3 #940 - You Satisfy the Hungry Heart (Westendorf)
Materials (**links removed**))

**We don't normally do this one, but I'm assuming you're all familiar with it :-). Let's begin with a brief instrumental, before having someone start the singing.**

Closing:
SS #126 (GC3 #624) - Lift Up Your Hearts (O'Connor)
Materials (**links removed**))

**We'll likely sing 2-3 verses. Including the descant would be great!**
