Season of Creation

26th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Nice work week! All You Works of God came together pretty well, considering it was only our second time singing this. I know How Great Thou Art isn't everyone's favorite, but it also sounded quite good in three parts. Check out the audio here.

A reminder that Chris W. is covering piano for Bev this week. Please welcome him back to the group!

If you haven't already, don't forget to take a look at our new Offertory song, Voice of Christ. We ran out of time to work on this last Saturday. I'm planning to do all four verses.

We've only done Sing Out, Earth and Skies! once before (coincidentally, the last time Chris W. played for us). The verses are cantor/response, so we can look at splitting the choir if there's enough singers. We may also need an instrumental at the end, as this song goes by really fast with only three verses.

Last week was Stewardship Sunday. In light of that, I'd love to try our hand at recruiting new members again. If you know of anyone who may be interested in joining us, let me know. It would be great to expand our numbers as we approach Advent/Christmas.

Now that schedules are normalizing, could we spend a bit of time during rehearsal on things like phrasing, cutoffs, dynamics and (as Ben mentioned) balance? We may not always have a chance to do this, but it'll help make things sound even better, especially in a large group.

Finally, stay tuned for our music and cantor schedule for October. And if you haven't already, please let me know your availability. It really helps with planning.
