Songs & Updates for Saturday, October 16, 2021 [updated]

Thanks for a nice program last week! We had several slower selections, which was a good change in pace. Everything was very together. Father's only comment was that Two Fisherman wasn't fast enough (hence the tempo increase), but that was my bad. Here's the audio

You may see some tweaks to how we're approaching rehearsals. Let's try to take care of familiar songs first, followed by new/less well-known ones. That should make things flow more smoothly and (hopefully) avoid too much repeating.

The text for Father's Gathering song, Lord, Whose Love in Humble Service, may be familiar, but it appears to be paired with a less-common tune (IN BABILONE). Take a look if you don't know it.

Also, please review All That is Hidden -- this was introduced during the Pandemic and we've only sung it as a group once before.

For Come to the Lord, we'll have to be careful of the timing. Since there's a key change, we should hold off on jumping to the final refrain until we're ready to end. A slightly slower tempo would help too.

Finally, Father's other Barb's selection, 'Tis the Gift to Be Simple (ie SIMPLE GIFTS) will definitely need repeated and/or an instrumental (there's only one short refrain and no alternate text).

I think that's it for now. See you Saturday!
