2nd Sunday of Lent

Thanks for a great start to the Lenten season last week! It was a busy night with a guest pianist covering for Jim & Bev (thanks, Chris!), a new a capella Gathering song, a switch in Mass Settings and an RCIA Rite of Sending/Dismissal. Let's also welcome back Mr. Ben! Check out the audio HERE.

Our music for March (HERE) has been approved with one change to the Closing song for 03/28.

A Marriage Convalidation is planned for Mass this Saturday. I don't believe we've had one of these at 5:30 before, so stay tuned. Will pass along further details as I receive them.

UPDATE: 03/04: The Convalidation will be held after the Homily. The only music will be a single verse of Where Charity and Love Prevail (lyrics will be printed in the program), which will be sung at the conclusion of the ceremony.

UPDATE: 03/06: Convalidation has been postponed (family is sick), tentatively rescheduled for 03/21.

Create In Me is sounding quite excellent so far. As discussed Saturday, we'll sing melody-only the first time; alto will be added the second time and tenor/bass the third time (for a total of three repeats). Since this is a capella and we're all on mics, please be super careful with entrances and cut-offs.

Unless anyone else is interested, I'm planning to cantor the Psalm with Ginny, covering for Ken. Also, for Remember Your Love, keep in mind that we typically build this up over several verses and end with an a capella refrain.

A reminder that we have Good Friday/Easter Sunday rehearsal after Mass (this was rescheduled from last week). Please plan to stick around. We'll continue working on How Beautiful, There Was No One There and (possibly) I Will Rise.

Finally, looking ahead, dress rehearsals for Good Friday and Easter Sunday have been confirmed. We have the Sanctuary on 04/10 from 12-2 PM and the Hall on 04/11 from 11-3 PM.

Ken is out this week.
