Songs & Updates for Saturday, November 9, 2019 [updated]

32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time
Excellent work last week! Everything sounded great and the harmonies added a lot to the music. Thanks to all who were able to be there! Check out the audio HERE. Also, special thanks to Bev, Ken and Ginny for covering All Saints last Thursday. Very much appreciated :-).

Our music for November has been approved with no changes. Note that this will be our last week of singing We Arise for Gathering; we'll also be switching to Let Us Be Bread next Saturday for Communion (please take a look if unfamiliar). Stay tuned for info on the Advent season beginning 11/30.

There's been some discussion recently regarding proper use of the choir mics. This stemmed from concerns raised at the Sunday Masses about individual voices being heard above the rest of the choir (see Barb's email from last Thursday). Given our much smaller group with singers clustered around the mics, this probably isn't as big of a concern for us. However, we should discuss and sort out the best way to move forward (I already tried positioning the front row mics higher and a bit further back last Saturday). Thanks to those who have offered input so far.

Since winter in right around the corner (possibly as early as Thursday), just a reminder about inclement weather. Mass is pretty much never canceled, so please use your own judgement when coming over. If you're not able to make it, let the group know so we can plan accordingly. Likewise, I'll share any updates via email, the website and Facebook. We only had one instance last year where the majority of us called off, so let's pray for another mild winter.

Ken, Maggie and I are out (wedding & concert), so Bev is in charge. As always, feel free to email/call/text if any questions. No Christmas rehearsal this week, but please continue working on preludes (just keep in mind all of the rearrangement we've done with voice parts due to our smaller-than-usual Christmas ensemble). More on the plan for Christmas in the next week or so.

UPDATE: 11/06: Father has scheduled an Advent Planning Meeting for this Sunday, 11/10, after the 11 AM Mass. Will let you know what shakes out.

UPDATE: 11/06: Father's 70th Birthday is on 11/14, so please make it a point to sing to him at the end of Mass. Thanks!

UPDATE: 11/08: Sam is tentatively out this week.
