5th Sunday in Ordinary Time / Baptism
Very nice work last week! This was probably our strongest Mass in quite a while, with some great energy and harmony throughout. Check out the recordings here (especially Shine, Jesus, Shine, which sounded pretty awesome with that a capella ending :-). Several visitors approached me afterward to thank us for our music and to say that they enjoyed worshiping with us.Special thanks as well to Bev and Maggie for playing at the funeral liturgy. It was a beautiful service and the family passed along their compliments.
Our music for February has been approved with no changes.
Barb indicated that an LED stand light that was purchased by the Office is now available in the choir section. This was one of several items purchased using money donated in Cindy Maund's memory (the other items included four music stands). This will give us another light to work with if anyone else would like to use one.
Don't forget that we have an RCIA Rite of Dismissal and Baptism this week. The usual changes have been made to the program. Please be on time for practice so we have a chance to work through everything. I'd love to be at full staff if possible for this special occasion :-)
Finally, please stick around after Mass for a bite to eat and an informal meeting to do some planning for the year. If you'd like to bring food, that would be great (the signup can be found here); ordering in is also an option. Let's use the kitchenette as our staging area and eat in the Warehouse. For discussion, think about what you'd like to see us do, where you see us going, what needs we may have and areas where we could improve. If there's anything specific you'd like to talk about, feel free to let me know.
Thanks as always for your dedication to our Ministry!
UPDATE: 02/06: Barb let me know that since this week's RCIA class is about Baptism, the Rite of Dismissal will be done after the Sprinkling Rite, rather than before the Baptism begins.
