This Saturday is the 5th Sunday of Easter.
Mass last week was pretty solid. Special thanks to Ben and Grace for cantoring the Psalm!
Just a reminder that I'm out this week, so I'm leaving things in Jim and Maggie's capable hands. I have some fun music planned, but if you see any problems/issues, feel free to let me know.
I'm hoping to select the music for May in the next week or so, and will get those tunes out to you as soon as I can.
First Communion Mass is being held on Saturday morning at 10 AM. If you're interested/available to help out, Barb H. is looking for musicians.
Jim was in touch with a potential new pianist, Debbie, earlier this week -- I've added her to our email list and she's planning to join us on Saturday, May 21st. I'm looking forward to working with her!
Last week, we did the Penitential Rite, but Father Charlie skipped the Gloria. Please be sure to watch Father for cues for both of these. Also, instrumentalists: keep in mind that the tempo for the Penitential Rite is relatively slow and at Father's discretion.
'In the Breaking of the Bread' was definitely better last week. We seemed more confident singing it and the tempo/rhythm was much improved (the piece did still end up slowing down, though). Maggie suggested trying it a capella this week to see if we can eliminate the remaining issues. I'll leave planning/directing that up to her.
