30th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Very well done last week! We were a small, but mighty group! Special thanks to Victoria, Frank, Joe, Ben & Maureen for coming out. It was fun getting to sing with you all again :-). Everything balanced nicely and the music all turned out great! Here's the audio.
A reminder that our next Christmas rehearsal is this Saturday @ 3:30 PM. If you're planning to be around for Christmas, please try to attend! We made some good headway with preludes last time, so let's keep that going. I'll get some November rehearsals on the board soon.
The next Time & Talent event is after all Masses this weekend. Both Dcn. Jack & Maureen gave us nice shoutouts last week, and I may say something this week too. If you're able to stick around to help with recruiting (or to help man the Prayer & Worship table), that would be great! It would be wonderful to pull in some new musicians before the Advent/Christmas season kicks off!
Looking ahead, we ended up making a tweak to coverage for the All Saints Masses:
Thursday, October 31st @ 7 PM - Joanne Bev (cantor TBD)
Friday, November 1st @ 9 AM - Bev Joanne; Barb P., cantor
Bev and I are still covering All Souls on Saturday, November 2nd @ 9 AM. Joanne already circulated a music plan for the 31st and I'll have music for the 2nd soon. Please join us if you're able!
Don't forget that our Fall Potluck is in two weeks (November 2nd). There's still time to RSVP if you haven't already :-).
Finally, the Thanksgiving & Christmas schedule was just confirmed today (thanks, Barb!). Coverage is TBD, but we should (hopefully) have that sorted out soon:
Thanksgiving Eve:
Wednesday, November 27th @ 7 PM
Advent Penance Service:
Tuesday, December 17th @ 7 PM
Christmas Eve:
Tuesday, December 24th @ 4 PM (Children's Mass)
Tuesday, December 24th @ 6 PM
Christmas Day:
Wednesday, December 25th @ 10:30 AM
I think that's it. Enjoy the warm weather!
(All Mass Parts, except the Gospel Acclamation, are from Storrington Mass, including Holy, Eucharistic Acclamation 'B' (When We Eat This Bread), Doxology & Lamb of God)
Out: Luca
Entrance:
GC3 #625 - Praise the One Who Breaks the Darkness (Edwards)
Materials (**links removed**)
**We're going a bit old-school with this one! It should (hopefully!) be a familiar tune -- NETTLETON. The sheet music is from a different book, but the arrangement is the same as GC. We'll sing all three verses, keeping the tempo moving and adding a fermata/slight pause between each verse.**
(Glory to God)
Responsorial Ps (Frank):
SS #068 (GC3 #057) - Ps 62 - My Soul is Thirsting (Angrisano)
Materials (**links removed**)
**Let's plan to not include the written interlude between verses two & three. If anyone's able to sing the harmony on the refrain, that would be great!**
Acclamation (Cris):
SS #005 (GC3 #844) - Alleluia! Give the Glory (vs 3 or 4) (Canedo)
Preparation:
SS #107 - Lead Me, Lord (Becker)
Materials (**links removed**)
(Mass Parts)
Communion:
GC3 #938 - We Come to Your Feast (Joncas)
Materials (**links removed**)
**The instrumental and/or first verse can be taken a bit slow, gradually picking up once everyone's back from Communion (here's a sample from 2022). It would be nice to include the harmonies :-).**
Commendation:
Song of Farewell (Schutte) [if needed]
Song of Farewell (Schutte) [if needed]
Closing:
GC3 #689 - Though the Mountains May Fall (Schutte)
Materials (**links removed**)
**Don't be afraid to swing the melody on this; that way, it's not too rigid! It would be great to include the descant on both the refrain & verse.**
