Season of Creation:
"To Hope and Act with Creation"
24th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Thanks for a great double-Baptism last week! The program came together really well and it was nice to see such a large Baptism party. The music seemed to be well-received! Here's the audio.
Last Sunday, members of the Pastoral Council, Finance Council & Parish staff met for an afternoon Retreat. We discussed (among other things) how to grow the Parish. Expanding youth involvement was one topic that came up quite often.
If you have thoughts on how we can attract youth into our Ministry, I'd love to hear them! We already have Class Masses on Sundays, but it would be great to have some Saturday involvement too (like the old youth Mass/t4C days). The idea of forming a praise band (of some kind) was brought up again too, so perhaps that's something to think about? Father seemed open to the possibility.
For those who know my sister Karina (she sang/played flute with us), she'll be in-country this week to attend a friend's wedding. Please do reach out if you'd like to say hi or catch up! I doubt she'll be able to join us for Saturday Mass, but she may possibly be there Sunday.
We had discussed meeting early to continue cleaning up Storrington Mass. With some things that have come up recently, let's hold off on that for now. Please keep working on your parts, though, and let me know if I can help! We can always schedule another 3:30 session later if needed.
Most of you are aware that Bev came down with a bit of a bug late last week (feel better, Bev!). If anyone else has symptoms, please let us know. We'll also be coming up with a contingency plan in the event that Bev isn't able to join us Saturday. Stay tuned!
UPDATE: 09/13: Bev is feeling better, but still has a few days to go on quarantine. She's going to sit this one out just to be safe. Frank & Virginia will take point instead (thank you both!). The three of us will be meeting early to review music, with regular rehearsal still at 4:00 PM.
Looking ahead, Bev will be out the last two weekends in September. Victoria will be covering the 21st (we're meeting this Friday to review music) and Virginia tentatively has the 28th. There are also some Saturdays in November (the 9th & 16th) that will need coverage. More to come.
Finally, if you haven't already, please complete Bev's poll for our next Quarterly Potluck. It looks like we're down to three possible dates: Oct. 12th, Oct. 26th & Nov. 2nd. It's shaping up to be a busy Fall, but we hope you can all join us!
I think that's it. Be well and have a great week!
