Songs & Updates for Saturday, July 6, 2024

14th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Thanks to all who were able to sing for Mark's Memorial Mass on Saturday! It was a lovely program and the family passed along their appreciation. Check out the audio here.

Saturday Mass also came together exceptionally well! The harmonies sounded great, especially on Rain Down, Come to Me, O Weary Traveler and I Am the Bread of Life. Here's the audio.

Our music and cantor schedule for July is ready to go. Let me know if you see any issues. As always, we can tweak as needed.

Please welcome Maureen to the group! Some of you already know Maureen, but if not, don't forget to introduce yourself. It's great to have another vocalist in the mix!

Sound system work continues! Paul has been making adjustments to the compressors, equalizer & noise gates, as well as getting the piano monitor working again. We may also have a method for capturing audio directly from the sound system, something we've wanted to try for quite a while :-).

Huge thanks to Joe for bringing in more music stands! There's one in the choir area, plus several in the storage closet. They're been repainted & may need a clamp to stay up, but should otherwise work fine.

Both Fr. Jozef & Dcn. Jack are out this week, so we'll have a visiting priest. We should take a few minutes to make sure we're on the same page with any logistics (especially Mass Parts).

Some information went out last week about Catholic Night at the Spikes (Wed., July 24th @ 6:35 PM). If you'd be interested in singing in a combined choir for the National Anthem & God Bless America, please get in touch with OLV's Music Director. See Dcn. Jack's email for the details.

Finally, our potluck is after Mass this week! We'll use the Kitchenette as a staging area. Please come before rehearsal (anytime between 3:00-3:45 PM) if you have anything to prep. That way, we don't cut into rehearsal time. And there's still time to sign up if you haven't already :-).

If I don't see you, have a great holiday weekend!
