5th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Thanks for a great small-group Mass last week! Since we had a number of folks out, we used a similar approach as Christmas (everyone gathered around the guitar mics). The harmonies sounded nice and there were many positive comments from folks afterward. Well done! Here's the audio.
A general call for Saturday musicians will (hopefully) go out this week via Facebook, the Bulletin, etc.. Again, I'm not expecting a big response (I'd love to be wrong, though!), but it's worth a try.
The cantor schedule for February is ready to go! Note that during Lent, there will be three pieces each week that need cantors: the Penitential Rite (Hold Us In Your Mercy), Lenten Acclamation (Praise and Honor) and Psalm. I've tried to split these up as much as possible, but the schedule's flexible as always.
Adding a prayer before rehearsal seems to be working well. If you'd be interested in leading the prayer (or have other prayers that we can use), let me know! Don't feel limited to just what's in the book!
A reminder that our first Lent rehearsal is this Saturday @ 3 PM. We'll start reviewing Mass of Remembrance, Mercy, O God and Praise and Honor. Please let me know if you're unable to be there.
On a similar note, I have a message into the Office to block our Saturday 3-4 PM timeslot throughout February for Lent/Easter rehearsals. Hopefully no conflicts. Of course, we may not need all of that time, but just wanted to cover the bases!
Most of our music this week (Sing of the Lord's Goodness, My Soul is Thirsting, There is a Longing and Bring Forth the Kingdom) has some nice harmonies and/or descants. Please take a look if you have a chance! Since it appears we'll be pretty well-staffed, it would be great to include these :-).
Finally, some of you may be aware that the Pastoral Council is seeking new members. We've built a great Council over the past year, but will have three vacancies to fill in March. If this is something you'd be interested in, please do put in a nomination (or get with me -- happy to answer questions!).
I think that's it. Have a great week!
