30th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Thanks for a great Mass last week! The Psalm came together especially well, and Bambelela was fun to pull out again. Folks continue to approach me about how much they enjoy the music (including several during the Fall Festival), so nicely done! Check out the audio here.
Mario (one of our new singers from Time & Talent) was in touch late last week. Mario really appreciated the warm welcome, but after further consideration, isn't able to continue with us (he's looking for a more traditional Mass experience). Of course, he's welcome back anytime!
Please welcome back Luca on flute! Luca would like to continue playing with us as as his schedule allows. He may take a shot at playing melody on most songs this week :-).
Last Friday, Jake, Lisa & I met separately to work on Let All the Earth. This 'mini-rehearsal' worked well and saved us time on Saturday. We should consider doing this again when sorting out parts, etc. -- it might help alleviate issues with limited rehearsal time.
Father Marek (from our sister Parish in Jamaica) will be making a rare visit to Good Shepherd this weekend. I'm not sure if he'll be celebrating Mass or speaking during the Homily, but let's be prepared either way. Also, if interested, a reception & presentation is being held after the 10:30 AM Mass.
All You Works of God is a tune we've only done a few times before. Please take a look if it's unfamiliar.
Harmony would be great! Also, let me know if you'd be interested in the solo parts on the verses.
If you weren't here when we did Anthem last time, please make sure you're familiar with it. The rhythms are a bit tricky. Also keep in mind that the melodies on each verse are slightly different.
Looking ahead, Christmas rehearsals will kick off this Saturday @ 3 PM. Details & preludes went out by email (too much to cover here). Our core group is smaller than usual, so hopefully we can pull in others as we go. Please plan to attend! If needed, I'll have black binders available for your music.
Masses for All Saints & All Souls are being celebrated next week. We're now covered for pianists & cantors, but co-cantors & other singers/instrumentalists would be great! I'll share the programs.
Finally, Frank's friend Virginia has agreed to play piano on 11/04 in Bev & my absence. She sat in with us last week to get an idea of how things flow. We can review the logistics on Saturday.
That's all for now. Have a great week!
(All Mass Parts, except the Gospel Acclamation, are from Mass of Creation, including the Gloria, Holy, Eucharistic Acclamation 'B' (When We Eat This Bread), Doxology & Lamb of God)
