Thanks for a fun Mass last week! Even with the switch in Mass Settings and a visiting priest, the program came together nicely! It was also great having Tom, Maggie & Mary with us again. Several folks commented on how much they enjoyed the music (and how appropriate it was for the liturgy). I also appreciate the help with collecting the Joy & Peace cards (thanks Joe & Ben!). Here's the audio.

Please take a look at A Place at the Table if it's unfamiliar. This is our Season of Creation piece for the week -- it focuses on the 'justice & peace' elements of our theme, rather than the more general 'creation' focus from last Saturday. Including the descant on the refrain would be nice.

Let's plan to review parts and clean up Mass of Creation a bit (especially the Gloria). There really weren't any issues last week; we just ran out of time to go too far into this.

Since we tend to take liberties with the melody anyway, could we make If Today more guitar-focused (if you're up for it, Frank)? This has worked well for us in the past, especially since the guitar & piano accompaniment doesn't always blend well, unfortunately.

For the Gospel Acclamation, we'll sing verse 1 this time. It's listed under the 'Gathering Verses' and fits the readings perfectly (note the slightly different melody). As a side note, I did find a version of this piece in GC with parts (SS probably has the same arrangement available separately). If we're feeling adventurous sometime, it could be fun to look at these :-).

We have several new/less-familiar pieces programmed for later this month. If you have a chance to look ahead on these, that would save us some time. See the music plan for details!

In other news, Joanne (along with Adam H.) is still working on developing a booklet of Bob Killoren's music for the congregation. She's hoping to have a cost estimate for the PC next month. If approved, this would allow us to sing Bob's music without printing/providing lyrics each time. Stay tuned.
