5th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Thanks for another strong Mass last week! We did run into some issues with the Communion song, but everything else sounded great (especially the harmonies on Mass Parts & Come to Me, O Weary Traveler). Here's the audio.
A paper survey about the Mass schedule was put out last week. If you weren't able to be there (or didn't have a chance to vote), it should (hopefully) be available again this week. The choices are as follows:
- 4:00 PM Saturday
- 5:00 PM Saturday
- 8:00 & 10:00 AM Sunday
- 9:00 & 11:00 AM Sunday
Let me know if you see any issues with the 4 PM Saturday time (that would shift everything back by an hour; it could also potentially be a seasonal change). I can bring up any concerns at the next meeting.
The Office was in touch about a Baptism that's now scheduled for 02/18. The music plan has been updated. Will let you know if there are any changes from how we've done Baptisms in the past.
For our after-Mass dinner/potluck, how does 02/18 sound? That's the last weekend in Ordinary Time before Lent. If that works for everyone (and there are no conflicts with the Office), we can sort out details in the next few weeks.
We touched on this Saturday, but if you have ideas for preludes or Communion Meditation pieces, please do send them my way. It would be nice to get back into these again.
For Glory and Praise to Our God, we've traditionally skipped verse four, which has a different melody. This time, let's plan to do all the verses; we can always adjust later if there are any issues. Including the harmony on the refrain and the descant on the verse would be great!
Please take a look at All That is Hidden if unfamiliar. We've only sung it twice before. Given its length, we may only get through 2-3 verses. If anyone's up for it, harmonies would be nice on this too :-).
Finally, Shine, Jesus, Shine is another classic we haven't done in a while. It may be worth slowing down the verses a tad since they're wordy. We'll also repeat the last refrain a capella.
That's all for now. Have a great week!
