Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God

Thanks for a great Christmas Mass last week! Despite losing our dress rehearsal to weather (probably a first!), everything come together pretty well. There were so many positive comments afterward and I really appreciate your time & work on this program! Check out the audio here.

When you have a chance (no big rush!), don't forget to return your black binders & music. We'll need the binders again for Holy Week and the music for next Christmas.

A reminder that the first refrain on the Psalm will be a capella, with everyone joining in on the repeat. There's no written harmony, but feel free to improv something if you'd like :-).

For The Virgin Mary Had a Baby Boy, please check out the recording for the rhythm (we're not using what's in the book) and how the final ending is handled. We'll also need to repeat verses for time.

We ended up not needing Lord, Today for Christmas, so we'll give it another try this week. If you're not familiar with it, please take a look. Including the harmonies would nice.

Father's Sending Forth, I Sing a Maid, may be unfamiliar -- we've done this for New Year's Day / Mary, Mother of God before, but not for a regular Saturday.

I'm working on January music. Please let me know of any Saturdays you're out. Beginning on 01/14, I'll again be selecting all music for Saturdays (no more split programs); Joanne is doing the same for Sundays. This should give us greater flexibility & the chance to plan further ahead. Stay tuned!

On a similar note, Fr. Charlie's last Saturday Mass with us will be on 01/07 & Fr. Jozef's first on 01/14. If possible, it would be great to have everyone available those weekends. During this time of transition, please keep all involved in prayer.

Finally, as we celebrate our last Mass of 2022, huge thanks for another great year of music-making! Here's to a happy, safe New Year and a fresh start in 2023!
