4th Sunday of Advent

Good work last week and I appreciate your running rehearsal in my absence! Our Sending Forth, God Has Chosen Me, was definitely a highlight. Here's the audio.
On a personal note, thanks so much for the card, kind words and help with my grandmother's funeral Mass yesterday. We had a nice little group of musicians from both choirs and many positive comments on the program. On behalf of my family, it truly meant a lot.
Welcome to the final week of Advent! Our last regular Christmas rehearsal will be on Saturday @ 3 PM. We'll touch on as much of the music as possible (but definitely the prelude, Finale & Night of Silence / Silent Night). Let me know if there's anything specific you'd like to look at.
For Gift of God, please check out the recording to make sure you know how this flows. It's in cantor & response format, with "Come to us, O Emmanuel..." as the refrain and response during the verses. Harmonies would be nice; let's also be careful about keeping the tempo in check.
A reminder that if anyone's interested, we do have additional harmonies available for the refrain on Find Us Ready. I can re-send these if needed.
Awake! Awake, and Greet the New Morn is a tune we haven't done in a while. Please take a look if it's unfamiliar. Father asked that we split out the verses men, women & all (see below).
For next week, I'm hoping to put out the Christmas music plan as early as possible. Our dress rehearsal is planned for Fri., 12/23 @ 6 PM (will confirm), with Mass on Sat., 12/24 @ 6 PM (report time will be 5:15 PM). Stay tuned as we finalize the details.
UPDATE: 12/16: Bev ran into a conflict with 6 PM on 12/23; can we meet at 4 PM instead? Please let me know if this works. I'm pretty flexible that day.
Finally, some are already aware, but it's now official: Fr. Charlie is retiring, effective 01/10/23. His successor will be Fr. Jozef, who, some years ago, began his ministry as a priest at GS under Fr. Bender. I've heard good things about him and don't anticipate drastic changes. The Choirs will again take over music planning the 2nd week of January. During the transition, please keep all involved in prayer.
That's all for now. Be safe out there with Thursday's storm and see you Saturday!
