1st Sunday of Advent

Thanks to all who were able to be there last week! We started looking at our Christmas prelude, as well as Mass of Joy & Peace and this week's Psalm. We were down quite a few singers, but the music for Mass still came together pretty well. Here's the audio.

Mass for Thanksgiving will be held on Thursday, 11/24, at 9 AM. Note the change from the usual 'Thanksgiving Eve' timeslot. Bev is playing piano. The program went out by email.

Welcome to Advent and Liturgical Year A! There's a lot to cover this week, so please be ready to start rehearsals right on time. And harmonies are definitely welcome on any pieces that have them :-).

A reminder that our second Christmas rehearsal is this Saturday at 3 PM. If you weren't here last week, a scan of the prelude was emailed out; I'll also have binders & hard copies available again. I'd like to look at a new piece for December as well, SS #109 - Find Us Ready (will send materials separately).

Could I get a hand with swapping out the Mass of Creation booklets in the choir area with Mass of Joy & Peace? With the holiday, the Office won't have a chance to do this before Saturday.

Let Us Go Rejoicing is a version of Psalm 122 that we haven't done before. Please take a look if it's unfamiliar. Ken, Lisa & I are planning to split out the parts and do all five verses.

For People, Look East, the staggered harmonies near the end will only work if we have at least three of the parts covered. If anyone's willing to pick these up, we should be in good shape.

Some have been asking about Christmas Eve. Due to factors outside of our control, the Mass schedule hasn't been nailed down yet (in the past, we've done either 4:00 or 6:30 PM in the Sanctuary or Hall). I'll get this info to you as soon as it's been worked out. I appreciate your patience on this!

Finally, I wanted to wish everyone a happy, safe Thanksgiving! Quality music is such an important part of Mass, and I'm truly thankful for each of you and your dedication to our Ministry. Thanks so much!
