2nd Sunday of Advent

Thanks for a nice start to the Advent season last week! We made a bit of headway with our Christmas prelude and new Advent piece, and the harmonies during Mass sounded great. Here's the audio.

Our third Christmas rehearsal will be on Saturday at 3 PM. If you're planning to sing/play for Christmas, please attend if you're able (between illness & the holiday, we've had many out the past two weeks). We definitely need more time on the prelude, and should also start working on Mass music.

Our music & cantor schedule for December is ready to go. With a number of things in flux, it's definitely possible this plan could change, though. Stay tuned and let me know if you see any issues.

Let's approach Prepare! Prepare! the same as previous years. Cantors will be needed for the first refrain only, as well as each verse (any takers?). Please check the recording for how this will flow.

If you weren't here last week, don't forget to look at our new Advent piece, Find Us Ready. I ended up shifting this from Offertory to Communion, which may work better. If interested, separate harmonies went out via email. Don't worry about the Coda for now. We'll sing this at least once more on 12/17.

Looking ahead, there's a good chance I'll either be late or not at rehearsal/Mass next Saturday, 12/10. Choral Society has our annual Christmas concert, and I'm not sure of the timing yet. I may ask some folks to take point that evening. More to come!

Finally, we normally have a Christmas dress rehearsal on 12/23. While other things are being worked out, I'd like to (tentatively) get this scheduled. Please let me know if there are any times that would (or would not) work best. In the past, we've done early/mid-afternoon or evening, but I'm flexible.
