Songs & Updates for Saturday, August 21, 2021 [updated]

21st Sunday in Ordinary Time

Thanks to those who were able to help with Assumption last week! It was nice to mix things up with a different pianist (welcome back Bev!) and celebrate a liturgy that doesn't often fall on a weekend. Here's the audio.

Due to recent COVID concerns, it's likely we'll see lighter coverage in the coming weeks. If you're still planning to attend (no pressure!), the Diocese is encouraging everyone to make a "responsible decision" about the use of masks, etc.. Of course, these directives could change. Until told otherwise, we'll continue to meet as scheduled and follow any Diocesan/Parish policies.

UPDATE: 08/19: Please plan to wear a mask beginning this weekend, 08/21. Father will be asking everyone to 'mask up' in light of the current COVID situation. Also, please stay home if experiencing any symptoms. More to come this weekend.

UPDATE: 08/20: A possible COVID case was reported at last weekend's Sunday Mass (08/15). See Flocknote/emails for details.

This will be our final weekend following Mark's 'Bread of Life' readings (we skipped over these last week due to Assumption). I expect it'll be our last time singing Strength for the Journey as well.

In the past, we've played with 'swinging' the melody on They'll Know We Are Christians (mainly to make it less 'rigid'). Perhaps we could try that again, but scale it back a bit to help with singability.

Finally, I've been slowly cleaning/reorganizing our side of the choir cabinet. If interested, any help would be appreciated with sorting/filing sheet music from last year. Certainly not urgent, though.
