Songs & Updates for Saturday, February 22, 2020 [updated]

7th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Thanks for a solid piano/violin Mass last week (and for putting up with my indecisiveness :-)! We were down a few folks, but the program overall came together well. A visitor commented on how much she enjoyed the music -- she found it to be very 'personal' and really liked the violin. Nice work! We also continued building Create in Me and after Mass, got a good start on How Beautiful and There Was No One There. Check out the audio HERE.

I'm in the process of finalizing our music for March (draft HERE). This includes all five weeks of Lent, beginning 02/29 (Palm Sunday and Holy Week selections will be finalized a bit later). Besides Create in Me, there aren't any new pieces on the board. I'll be sending these to the Office soon and will let you know of any changes. Stay tuned for the cantor schedule.

We'll be switching to Mass of Remembrance for Lent. Since we have a guest pianist that first Saturday (and we haven't done this setting in a while), it may be worth reviewing. As a reminder, we won't use the Gloria or regular Alleluia until Easter. For the Eucharistic Acclamation, we'll likely sing We Proclaim Your Death (Acclamation "A").

For those unaware, the piano was re-positioned slightly due to a water leak. This seemed to change the dynamics in the room a bit, but other than some keys not quite working properly, didn't cause us any problems. We talked about temporarily moving the piano back to its regular spot for Mass, but ultimately decided to leave it alone. Let me know if any questions/concerns.

Please take a look at Age to Age if unfamiliar. We've only done this one a couple of times. Note as well that an RCIA Rite of Dismissal is planned for this week (and next). Also, if we could continue adding parts on Create in Me, that would be great!

Finally, we have Lent/Easter rehearsal after Mass. Let's focus on How Beautiful, There Was No One There and (possibly) I Will Rise. Binders will be available if anyone still needs music.

Maggie is out this week.

UPDATE: 02/18: Ken is out this week; Jim will also be covering the Psalm for Lisa. A cantor is needed for the Alleluia.

UPDATE: 02/19: Our Gathering song will once again be 'We Arise', rather than 'Age to Age' (we may need to announce a correction to what's in the program).
