Songs & Updates for Saturday, October 19, 2019

After several months of 'light' coverage, it was great to 'get the band back together' last week. We covered a lot of ground in a short space of time, including working through regular Mass music, a new Psalm and Christmas pieces. Thanks to all who were able to be there! Check out the audio HERE.

As many of you are aware, a new lighting control system was recently installed in the Sanctuary. LEDs also replaced incandescent bulbs in all of the existing fixtures. Some folks have already brought this up, but I was asked to see if there are any concerns about the choir lighting being too shadowy, dim, etc.? If so, at our next meeting, I'll see if any adjustments can be made.

Please take a look at I Will Lift Up My Eyes (new Psalm) if you haven't already. We reviewed the refrain last week. Also, make sure you're familiar with the flow of Cry the Gospel, as we haven't done this one in a while. Finally, it may be worth going through the verses on O Taste and See, as there seemed to be a few spots we were a bit unsure of last time.

A reminder that musicians are still needed for All Saints on 10/31 (piano is covered). I'm out-of-town and unable to cantor, so if you're available, that would be greatly appreciated!

The annual Fall Craft Fair (details HERE) is being held on 11/02 from 10-3 in the Hall. Please come out and support the Parish! I believe Jim's band Group Therapy will be providing live entertainment.

If you're singing for Christmas, practice tracks are now available for Carol of the Bells (HERE) and Finale for Christmas (HERE - more to come). Our next rehearsal will be after Mass on 10/26 (I should have music for Masters in This Hall by then). Stay tuned for the rest of the schedule, including dress rehearsal(s) in December.

Jim will be out on 10/26. I'm out on 11/09 for a concert.
