Season of Creation
23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time
Thanks for another solid Mass last week! Since Father Charlie was on vacation, Father Baker and a visiting missionary priest presided. Both commented later on how well our selections fit the themes for the readings (audio HERE); the missionary priest was especially a fan of the Psalm, Be With Me, referencing it several times during his homily. Lisa, Ginny, Bev and I also stuck around afterward for a nice little dinner/get-together in the Warehouse -- hope more of you can join us next time!

Our music for September (HERE) has been sent to the office for approval. The cantor schedule is also ready to go (HERE). Will let you know of any changes.

As we've done in past years, the Season of Creation will be celebrated throughout September. Our Offertory hymn all month will be Touch the Earth Lightly, so there won't be a common Communion song. I'd also like to introduce a new piece, Age to Age, which we touched on last week (materials HERE). We still won't be singing the Penitential Rite or Gloria until further notice.

An update on the lighting control system: a digital panel has been added below the breaker box in the Sacristy. I haven't had a chance to play with this yet, but if you have a need to turn on the lights, it looks like this is how they'll be managed moving forward. Stay tuned.

Finally, Both Bev and Jim are out this week. I'm seeing about finding piano/guitar coverage, but if no one is available, we may need to do an a capella Mass. Any help would be greatly appreciated. More to follow.

UPDATE: 09/06: Unless something changes between now and tomorrow, please be prepared for an a capella Mass. I unfortunately wasn't able to find piano/guitar coverage. Let's get underway right at 4:30 and utilize voice parts as much as possible. Thanks!
