Pentecost Sunday
**Don't forget to wear RED**
Great work last week! The harmony was lovely and we received several compliments from parishioners and visitors alike (my favorite was the person who was thankful for "our lively musicians" during the Liturgy of the Eucharist :-). In This Place, All the Ends of the Earth and We Are Many Parts were highlights. Check out the recordings HERE.**Don't forget to wear RED**
Special thanks as well to those who were able to sing/play for Ascension -- it was nice to do more than a simple piano/cantor Mass for this special liturgy. God Mounts His Throne and Be Not Afraid were highlights (recordings HERE).
Our music for June has been approved with no changes. The cantor schedule is also ready to go. Let me know if you see any problems/issues.
For Spirit Blowing through Creation, I'd like to try doing the verses in pairs and only singing the refrain between/after each set (this will hopefully cut down on the length a bit). Also, it would be nice to include the canon/round on Lord, Send Out Your Spirit. Finally, for Holy Spirit, could we try solos on the verses? We did this last time with Jim and Lisa trading back and forth, which seemed to work well.
Looking ahead, next week's Psalm for Trinity, How Glorious is Your Name (Old GC #020), is one we don't do often. Please take a look if unfamiliar -- there are definitely some tricky sections in both the refrain and verses.
On a similar note, it looks like we'll be switching back to Mass of Creation on 06/22 (one week earlier than originally indicated). The Sprinkling Rite will also be dropped that weekend, and the Penitential Rite added for at least the last two Saturdays in June. Will update the music plan/schedule above to reflect the changes.
Jim and Joe are out this week for a Group Therapy gig.
