Trinity Sunday
Thanks for a solid Pentecost last week! I appreciate everyone wearing red :-). We were down a few instrumentalists and singers, but everything seemed to flow pretty well. The Psalm (in three-part canon) and Holy Spirit were highlights. Recordings HERE.For Glory and Praise, we've traditionally skipped over verse four, which has a totally different melody line than verses 1-3. If folks are up for it, I wouldn't mind giving this verse another try. Also note that in the current edition of Gather, this song is written in four parts, as opposed to melody and a single harmony line in the old book.
Don't forget to look over How Glorious is Your Name, as there are some tricky parts in both the refrain and verses. Since this piece is in the old book, please print yourself a copy if possible (we can make photocopies on Saturday if needed).
Finally, a reminder that we're switching back to Mass of Creation next Saturday, 06/22. The Sprinkling Rite will also be dropped that weekend. Besides the usual Mass Parts, we'll be introducing the Penitential Rite from this setting, which we haven't sung before. Check it out HERE (more to come; stay tuned).
Maggie is tentatively out this week.
UPDATE: 06/14: Brad is out for a couple of weeks.
